I am really sorry about this. Just trying to find out how to make a better character for a RP.

Nice to see you've been occupied in my absence.

    Update:

Arthgon, you're out. And I won't let you in again.

Zanza, quit the trolling or I'll start deleting your posts.

Yuki, since you seem to know a lot more than me about this, and you seem to be pretty enthusiastic, you can take charge of the game (if you like).

Now, a few basic things about this game:

You will all be part of the same company. You will all be new (in said company, you may have had previous experience). You will all have the same coordinator.

Hey. I was just trying to find out what is wrong with my lastest version of my character. But nobody seems to help me with it. I was also the only one who asked on-topic questions about everything to know more about this RP.

I'd rather you were in charge Wolfsbane, I know next to nothing about actually roleplaying, less so running one!

Also; in today's private military industry, the terms "mercenary," "hired gun," and "soldier of fortune" are considered dirty words, and the terms "private military contractor," "security contractor," or simply "contractor" are instead to prefer.

Other acceptable terms are "security professional" and "operator."

Well, since Arthgon is out, count me in. And if anyone has questions pertaining to the U.S. military or modern military operations, ask and I'll share what I know.

Just one question: Why can Zanza use his Batman character and Darkfool his character from Narnia?

This part refers to his Batman character. This means that unless he comes up with a real character, he's out.

    Batman is not allowed.

    EDIT:
This is a first draft of the character to get things going, on a serious note.
The final copy will include links, but if you have any questions I'm happy to oblige.

I'm sitting this one out anyway guys, got Uni assessment piling up and visiting my folks in the next week or so. My time online will be touch and go so best not to have me slow things down like usual.

Is there going to be a separate thread for characters, or should we post them here?

I think It's the best if we get another thread for characters, since this one is so clogged up with shit. Just wanted to get my out as a real "model", though it's a quite lacking one.

I liked Yukis idea of writing your character as a CV. I'll start a new thread for the characters asap. Also, Yuki, you seem to know much more about modern day mercenaries than I do, so that's the part I wanted you to take charge of.

Also, I'd like to see all of you contribute to the setup and setting. The conflict will be in an African country, ok. But what's happened? Has the third Kongo war perhaps erupted (you know, hutu vs tutsie), allowing for other nations to go into a state of proxy-war for the resources in the region? Could the conflict be of such a magnitude that corporations have, independently, joined the party as well? Anyone got another idea?

While I am out of this rp, I do have an idea.

What if the forces of other nations would have help the rebels against their brutal government (like what is happening in Libya), but cannot do this offically, because of diplomatic difficulties? So they need mercenaries corps. to get this done.

I'm thinking small-scale. Like a conflict over access to a newly discovered mineral deposit (gold, platinum, diamonds, whatever). Could be between two corporations, a corporation and a local government, or two local governments. Contracted security forces protect interests on one or both sides.

What about the local Warlords? Would not they want their share of those newly discovered mineral deposits?

That's not a bad idea at all, actually.

Though African warlords have more need of money and weapons.

    And cars. With weapons.

Batman Inc's reach is not limited to "countries".
