Discussion for The Mercenaries 2000

I am still working on my characters background.

Name: Captain Edward Duke

Age: 35

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Black and with a bit a gray.

Height: 6'4

Weight: 180 pounds

Occupation: Blackwater Mercenary

Character Traits: Cynical, arrogant, a bit blood thirsty. (I am still working on this bit)

Background: Because one of the African countries was on the brink of civil war again, the US military send him (like many others) to keep the peace there. After many years he was getting bored and he even do not wanted to be there. Edward wanted adventure, power and money. A lot of money. Not hanging around in a country that was doomed in the first place. So he began to work for Blackwater.

PS: Will the U.N. still exist in 2015?

 

Indeed they will! And I was hoping such a character sheet would look a bit like a CV or a resumé, with previous employments, skills and recommendations!

Powers: Batman has no super powers but possesses a keen intellect and superb fighting skills. Batman also has many impressive Bat gadgets including his Bat Utility Belt, the Batmobile, etc, and of course he operates from the Bat Cave located under Wayne Manor.

History: Bruce Wayne lost his parents has a child to a robbery in Crime Alley. He grew up with a need for justice and became the Batman to put fear in the hearts of the criminal element especially that of Gotham City.

Allies: Batman's best know ally in the war against crime is Robin who originally was Dick Grayson now known as Nightwing. The second Robin, Jason Todd was killed by the Joker, and finally the third Robin Tim Drake. Batman has also been aided by Batgirl (Commission Gordon's daughter Barbera) who later became confined to a wheel chair thanks to the Joker. She then aided the Batman has Oracle. Batman has also teamed up with Superman in a few hundred issues of Superman, and has also been a member of the Justice League.

Enemies: The Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Two-face, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman (though lately she seems to be an ally)

History: After promoted to the rank of captain, the US Army sends Edward to one of those African countries, (which was on the brink of civil war again) to keep the peace there. Some years later, Edward concluded that nothing has changed and he wanted real adventure and money. A lot of money. Therefore, he began to work for Xe Services.

Is this okay? Or should I change and/or add some things?

My character isn't about Jason Todd though, it is Batman. You shouldn't joke like that Yuki, you know DF does whatever girls tell him to.

 

Man, Edward Duke is a child prodigy. He got his High School diploma at age 10!

 

There are far more impressive prodigies than Duke in the real world. I think that grounds him in reality and will allow people to more readily accept his character. Then again, it is Arthgon

 

I refuse to believe Arthgon's blackbeard as a joke.

 

Oh. Wait. He started to do High School at 12 years old (that makes the year 1992) and he got the diploma at 18 years old.

 

Personally, I will never again join a RP that includes Arthgon. Because Blackbeard wasn't a joke at all. Blackbeard was highly consistent with every other character he has conjured up.

 

Alright. Sorry. I will make my characters better okay. It is sometimes difficult to think of a characters background.

Should I change the history of this character Edward Duke? Or add or change other things? And I probably messed up the years.

Edit: I change the name from Edward Duke to Robert Duncan and fixed the years.

Edit2: I cannot think of a better background history of this character at this moment. Could someone help me with this one?

Okay. I will work on Robert Duncans background history. Is it realistic if he was send to the African country to keep the peace (like they are doing in Irak or Afghanistan now), or has the US Army invaded this African country and overthrown an African dictator? (Like Irak).

Also, does the characters work for themselves or have they done some dirty work for one those mercenaries organisations? Because I was not sure if you can join those groups like Xe Services.

Should I write down what he has done for his past employers, even if they are against the law or something?
