Diffculty in some quests.

Hi,

I am playing the 1074 127 lvl hacked exe.
I am using a 38% Technologist character.

i had difficulty completing the quest that widow misk gave me.
i managed to find out something about elmer burbottom guy.
but when i went to the tarant halls of records (HoR), the woman there just attacked me...
so i am unable to gather any information on that elmer guy living in ashbury.
and when i went to ashbury in hope of being able to skip the HoR part, nothing happens...
i wonder if there's anyway i will be able to make the woman in HoR turn friendly to me.
NOTE: i lockpicked and prowled my way through HoR to find out info about the Renford guy. and the people there didn't see me. so i am very shocked when they attacked me... ><

EDIT: loaded an earlier save game for the whytechurch murders. now able to complete it.

 

Sounds like a corrupt savegame to me. If possible, try to load a previous saved game. If not, try to use the repair function in the setup guide. Other than that, there isn't much you can do, I think.

managed to complete the whytechurch murders after loading a pervious save game which i made before making the agreements between Tarant and Caladon.

what's the setup guide?

If you select the option "uninstall", three options will occur:
1. Uninstall Arcanum
2. Reinstall Arcanum
3. Repair Arcanum
Take the third option and hope for the best.

Arcanums a good game, but its one of those games where stuff always messes up
