Dex permenantly drained?!!

    :( All right so I finally started playing Arcanum after I preordered it years ago...that was mistake number one. Fun game. Mistake number two I can't seem to figure out though becuase for some reason both my main character and Virgil have lost 2 dex and I can't seem to get it back. It doesn't say anything anywhere in my journal about it like blessed or cursed and they're not encumbered or anything. Is there anyway to fix it? I also have the gypsy blood curse, whoops. That I understand is uncureable. And the walkthroughs I've read have no mention of this at all.

    The reduced DX is because you and Virgil both used a certain cursed blade. Its uncureable, just like the Gypsy blood curse. Identify that blade (the one you've found somewhere in the sewers in Tarant), remember the name and NEVER ever put it into your followers inventory or equip it yourself.

    The sword is called The Black Stone Blade. I usually destoy it in the Bangdillian Deeps. -4 dex every time you equip it.

    This is why it's a good idea to have many differently named save files spread out on regular intervals. I'm completely weird about that - I can easily have 100+ saves in my folder. Has saved me from a whole lot of trouble though.

    Are you really sure you want to start over all the way from the beginning?

    The only real beef I have with the permanentyly cursed items is that our idiot followers equip them when you just want them to carry them. I think this "follower choosing weapon" thing was one of the weakest parts of Arcanum, especially since the AI for it was so dumb.

    Hey! Unitendtified magic item! Dibs! Ooh! I'm not strong enough to lift that magic item and I'm 100% tech! Gimmee!

    I want a just-carry-the-thing-dipshit button.

    100+ saves? Now that's what I call over the top. I have separate saves for each town and save there before leaving. Simple and effective.

    I told you that I was all mad about it - I save very frequently, and for some reason I always end up making a completely new save each time.

    I really need therapy...

    Me too. I have about 7-8 saves per score. I recently deleted all of my saves except my final ones.

    WOW, 100+! I only have 2, and I rotate them. I'll save when I start, save in Shrouded Hill, then when I hit Dernholm I save over the start one.

    yeah same here about 5 at a time though. but 100? your save game folder must be like 30 megabytes!

    I currently have about 30 saves... and that's with only two different characters... and I like the blackstone blade... I gave it to Virgil, and I have been giving him as much cursed stuff as I can, and I personally love the Bangellian Scrouge, it may make you majorly evil, but DAMN is it a good blade!! :) :thumbup: :)
