Dernholm Pit

Just how can I enter the Dernholm Pit?? I can see the entrance can be highlighted, but how do I actually get lowered into the pit? The guards won't let me down... If there is an alternate entrace, please explain clearly where it is, as I m a lil slow on that

 

Well, I you don't do a search, here it is: When it's the right place in the storyline, you can tell them to throw you in and they actually will instead of attacking you.

 

Well, I'm not sure because I know it's part of the evil plot which I never do. But I think the right time would be right before you go to Thanitos. (However you spell it)

 

The main plot can branch off in two major directions at Tsen Ang. One is the good path and one is the evil path. For the evil path, I believe you have to enter the Dernholm Pits and at that time, you will have the option of entering. IIRC, there is also another way in that is not dependent on the plot. Someone may know this other way in, but I certainly don't.

 

The other way in is through the exit, which is found in the wilderness about six screens NW of the arrival point in Dernholm.

I don't believe you need to go to Thanatos when following the evil plotline. You CAN go there of course, if you get a boat of your own, but nobody ever sends you to look for Nasrudin.

 

Yes, but I was talking about going to the pits when doing the good plot.

 

I didn't quite get that from your posts. But in that case, you'd want to go after Tulla and before Vendigroth. The map you get is somewhat useful but not necessary, and it's really a strictly evil plotline area. The midget never says, "Oh, did Pelojian/Nasrudin/Alexander send you!" It's always something about K'an Hua, no matter your alignment or when in the game you choose to go there.

 

Or, if you think of the Dark Elf Camp as equating Tulla in the plotline, you could go Thanatos -> Pits -> Tulla.

But it doesn't really matter. For all the sense the dialogue makes for one following the good path you gould go there straight from the crash site.

Unless you're running a character suspicious of Elder Joachim and his motives, in which case you could postulate that your good character would somehow have learned about K'an Hua et al though whatever means.... But that's not provided for in the game sadly.

 

If you have run a good PC & an Evil PC, one tech & one magic, you will have seen about 65 % of the game.

I have been playing scince it was a few months old & I still haven't seen it all.

 

What I'm wondering about is whether it is possible to get to Tulla and make a Mastery in magic if you chose to play the evil plot. If you don't talk to Nasruddin you can't enter Tulla, but if you join the Dark Elves cause you cannot go to Nasruddin...

 

I've visited Nasrudin while following the evil plotline. You just need a boat really, and there's one waiting for you the whole game....

I didn't bother going to Tulla though. Have to try that some time.

 

How did you get there though? Do you automatically get the option if you buy a boat, regardless to whether you know about Thanatos or not?

 

Having messed with the ship scripts quite a bit, I can tell you that you get to go to Thanatos, Caladon, Tarant, Ashbury and Black Root automatically when you get a ship. It's built into the scripts.

 

Oh, I didn't try buying the boat, I went to see Pete and did his quests as normal. And yes, once you get the boat (that boat anyway, didn't try the other as I said) it has the option to go to Thanatos.

Presumably you could get Pete's boat as early in the game as you wish, provided you survive the trip and tasks.

 

By forcing the location? Yeah, good point. If you play an evil plot, why not get the Scourge on your way? :lol:
