Alright, I tried downloading the demo, but it won't load so I push ctrl-alt-del and it says it's not responding, I've downloaded the file from fileplanet and from the sierra website, is there anything else I should, I really want to try this game out

The problem is clearly not in the file, what are your system specs?

Well then, who the fuck knows, by all meas it's supposed to work. Countless people ran it on your configuration and had no problems.

Try using Scandisk and defragging your hard drive. May not help, but hey, at least your HDD will work better afterwards :).

I had a different problem, and my comp was FAR worse, but I got Arcanum (demo and full) working by dropping back to high colour. Hope it helps.

Drivers are up to date? What about DirectX, what version of that are you running?

Many have run this game on slower computers with video cards 2 generations behind yours. Buy the game, it is dirt cheap right now & I promise you will not be disapointed. However, I have no idea why the demo will not run for you.

Welcome to the forums, Asil!

There are hundreds of reasons that it could have gone wrong. Now, if you left it overnight to download, it may have finished downloading prematurely (happened to me before - it says it is done, but it really isn't, so all the data isn't there and the file is corrupted), it could be the server (I have downloaded more than one program that just doesn't work from big downloading databases like that one), or your system is not set right (probably not the problem, but, as said before, check your color. If Windows Installation Wizard doesn't work, try to upgrade to a newer version. That can be a problem. If the game just doesn't work, try getting the newest version of DirectX.). Hope this helps.

Wasn't there also a problem with Direct Sound? Try turning that off, I believe it fixed a few problems.

Or maybe I'm thinking of a different game.
