Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to rig a delayed reaction float? Scenario: Woman got beat-up by half-ogre named Mongo - she gets a time bomb to kill him - gives you the time bomb to give to him - you do so - you and your party move to a safe distance (In any available direction) - and one of the followers floats the line: "Candy-gram for Mr. Mongo (chuckle) - KABOOM, end of Mongo. I can't quite seem to figure it out.
Are you making a blazing saddles mod? Scripting time delays is a major pain in the ass. Lots of things can go wrong when you start using timed scripts. The line you want to use will be: "call script (num) at line (num) with triggerer (obj) and attachee (obj) in (num) seconds" There are a few ways of solving your problem. Here is the first one that comes to mind. Give Mongo a heartbeat script which checks if he is holding an item named 1234 (whatever number is available). Give the bomb the internal name 1234. If mongo has the bomb then he "call script (num) at line (num) with triggerer (obj) and attachee (obj) in (num) seconds" Make this call the current script at a later line. This later line will say "spells: cast unresistable spell (num) on (obj)" The spell will be number 176 (dynamite). Loop for everyone in vicinity If current looped object is named 5555 (Name of the chosen NPC) then float line X above current looped object. The NPC will now say the line and Mongo will blow up.
I appreciate the info. Thanks. Actually, it's not just "Blazing Saddles" that's getting a sly wink but a few other movies, TV shows, and music artists as well. For example: you are walking up the road and see a man dressed in a nice suit a few paces away from a roadsign. You ask him directions and; in Rod Serling's voice (With sound clip); he tells you "There's a signpost up ahead." and promply vanishes! What do you think? Besides me needing to get away from the TV more....
