    I'm getting back 230 bucks from returning my video card and now I'm wondering how I'm going to spend it. I've narrowed it down to 2 things.

    1. This awesome 17" LCD monitor --> http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 001&depa=0

    2. This stick of ram. --> http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 969&depa=1

    The ram would add up to 2048, or 2 Gigs, which would be freakin awesome. And with the money left over I'd buy a decent 17" CRT monitor for about $100.

    But the monitor would be nice and I have to get one anyway. Suggestions?

    I'd chuck the RAM. I consider that way more important than a monitor. Maybe that's why I still use an old-as-fuck 15'' Viewpoint... but hey, it works!

    You guys just aren't nerdy enough. Getting that much RAM wouldn't do much. Most new demanding games can't use more than 700MB of RAM at one time and HL2 and Doom3 don't use over 1GB of RAM. You won't need it unless you're playing three games at once and even then you might need to upgrade your processor speed. Go with the monitor, I reckon

    I just read a very bad review on that specific ram, so if I'm going to get ram, it's not going to be that.

    Heh, well I'm not going to be playing any games, since I just returned my card. After this I'm going to save up for another video card and by the time I have enough money, the 6800 Ultra will probly be affordable. ;)

    It all narrows down to; are you a gamer or not.

    Geforce 2 = no good for gaming.

    I thinking I'll go with the ram, 2 gigs is really something to brag about!

    2GBs of RAM is absolutely useless. 1GB is all you need. Buy a bad ass graphics card instead if you don't already have 1GB of RAM

    I have 1GB, the the graphics card I want is well over what I have. And I'm planning on waiting until the price goes down on the 6800 ultra.

    Rosie likes the slo luv?

    What about waking up? I've always preferred the slow, sunday morning style, although the noisy, Tuesday, oh shit you're ten minutes late for work approach is always an option.

    I need to get more RAM, but I only have 3 slots on my mobo :(. 2 of them are being taking up by 256MB Corsair sticks, I wish I could find a decent 1GB stick to whack in the other slot.

    Yeah, I have the same situation. 2 of mine are taken by 512MB Corsair sticks, I'm going to find something to fill the last slot.
