I'm sorry, this topic is only partially related to this forum (the module in question is the actual Arcanum campaign module). I know that you folks here don't really have a support forum for that, but with the offical forums being taken offline I don't know where else I can turn!

I'm trying to reinstall the game, but I keep getting an error during the installation that reads: Error Reading File: E:\Sierra\Arcanum\arcanum2.dat
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I've verified it exists and that I can touch it (it's sitting right in the explore menu). Is there some way to fix this or am I doomed to be Arcanumless?

Addendum: The CD's are both in good working order and I've tried putting the installation CD back in to do a 'repair', but the option doesn't present itself for my selection

Please, you're the only people who might know what's going on here.

Edit: I should add, I used the CD to install Arcanum on my PC before (before upgrading to XP) and it did not encounter any problems, so I know it's not a factory-defective CD. I will also add that Ih ave 80 gigabytes of free space on the machine, so I don't think it's due to lack of room.

Usually an error for a particular file means that the file is damaged due to a scratch.
    Arcanum runs fine on XP.
