Yersterday and today I had an exam and I got highest marks from each of them. This means not only vacation until october but also scholarship!!! Nothing fancy, 30-40$/month but it feels good to be payed for damn hard work.

Feels great, especially due to scholarship - I was afraid I'll not get it while being so close (just like it was last year - I was 0.03 below the required mark average. Last exam was decisive but unfortunately the examinator considered it bad for men to get good marks). Damn I'm happy.

Thanks to you too Jinxed. I know this is your special way of giving your congrats to people. Besides I now feel invincible anyway.

That's funny, so do I. You should have seen it the time I got my ass together with Ioo's mum. Matted grey hair flew that night, and not just from Ioo's mum's back.

I just finished my semester's exams on Wednesday...I'm feeling good, now that I have almost 4 weeks of practically nothing to do.

    Got any plans?

My mate John came back on a flying visit to blighty after 16 months in his new home in Sydney. He loves it out there and makes it sound like England with more sun and less traffic.

Sydney is a hole. Then again, I'm traditionally biased against Sydney - sure the Olympics were held there, but the Olympics have been held in shitloads of other cities as well. I've seen the (outside) of the Opera House...it isn't that special. Who cares about the bridge. The day I drove in, it was humid, rainy, and late in the afternoon, and we didn't really know where we were going. Luckily, after only an hour and a half of driving around, we found our friends' house.

If he thinks Sydney is great, he should have a look at other cities, like Melbourne and Brisbane, both of which are far better...well, Melbourne has a crapload of rain, and Brisbane can be quite humid...but both are far better than Sydney. It's very expensive living there as well.

I'm not even scratching the surface here...

He talked about the time he spent in Melbourne (his wife is some globe-trotting exec) and said it was nice enough, but he never said anything about it being way better than Sydney. He doesn't seem to think Sydney is a hole, either. Maybe he just lives in a nice part or maybe it just comes off well compared to London.
