haha. Hinata Inn is a place in Japan. It doesn't even exist. It's an Inn where a bunch of teenagers live. It's from the series Love Hina.

Do you mean to tell me that people on this forum might not actually be from where they say they're from?! So Ring lord isn't really from Caladon? Dmonik isn't really from The Void? Oh, this hurts.
Oh, and on the original topic, IMHO, rap sucks.

Watch it guys, don't you be calling all the RAP a crap (what a nice rhyme). I like Dr DRE and a few of Eminem's songs. I listen also to Metal and Rock.

EDIT - just removed a quote. Must watch myself which buttons I press.

I actually wrote a rap once. I'll just "sing" the first little verse.
    *cough, throat clearing,ahem*
    *electronic, pre-recorded percussion*

"The b!@#h and me got $%^&y
coz she partied wit my ho's
her *@#$%y was so $%#@^d stanky
when I !@$%#d it wit my nose"

    Thank you.

I'd rather listen to The Gourds version of "Gin 'n Juice" than Snoop's anyday.

I don't say that RAP is a high-level music but it's just good to listen to it especially after a tough day.

I take it back. I don't know why I wrote this, I just didn't listen to my CDs for some time. RAP's great and it's WAY better than that "butterfly, something baby" and other shitty hits by that IIRC German group (Limp Bizkit perhaps?).

Old Clapton, Beck and Page, perhaps? Leo Kottke? Hendrix? Vai? Zappa? Gary Moore? Real MUSICIANS, maybe?
And please don't anyone tell me that a couple of turntables = an instrument. I've been a DJ, and it's a walk in the park compared to really playing your own shit live on stage.
    *heave gasp sweat*
Sorry. I just intensely dislike rap. And most country pap, for what that's worth.

I like the older stuff, like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Dire Straits, as well as some newer stuff. I hate teenyboppes, pop and all things associated with it. All harmonising bands should be shot.

However, as some other Aussies (i.e. mrnobodie) might know, a radio station over here just finished what they called 'Aus Music Month'. Man, that was a good month for radio. They played heaps of cool new aussie bands, as well as some good international stuff.

My music tastes range from good old stuff (what I listed above) to a mix of rock and alternative...

I didn't even get started with my list. Mark Knopfler is great, but then he started bringing that damned Hammond organ to the front of the music (Walk of Life).
Aussie bands I'm familiar with or know they're from Australia: AC/DC, Men at Work, and Silverchair. Guess which one I like.
Hint: they're still making albums.

sorry jarinor but i don't listen to the radio, it's too commercialised and they play the same songs ad neusium (spell check please)
i should point out in fairness that i will listen to anything then decide whether it's shit or not, it's just most of what i don't like keeps coming from the same genre's ie c & w, techno, etc

Triple J is anything but commercialised...

Well, Feldon, that's a tough one, because Silverchair have just returned to touring, and as far as I know, AC/DC isn't dead yet...I could be wrong though...

Have you heard of Powderfinger? They've got some great stuff, and so does Regurgitator. By sheer coincidence, both bands come from Brisbane .

Brisbane has actually been compared to Seattle lately because of the number of high quality bands it has produced (not for any other reason though!).

It's OK. to tell the truth I don't really care. BTW I can't stand country music too.

I heard a few songs by Led Zeppelin and I liked them. I also like Doors. Hendrix - heard only a few songs, he's quite ok.
