First off, hallo everyone, first time poster here  Secondly, my question. Cursed items, how do they work? Are they all bad? For instance, when a weapon would say something like "4-18, random fire damage" or somesuch, is that fire damage against enemies or against the wielder? I've either been ditching or storing cursed items since I started playing, and I was wondering if I was missing out on something potentially good. I know some of them can do rather nasty stuff to the wielder, but I was hoping you guys (and gals, I'm sure there's some more of us that play) could help. Thanks, much appreciated! ~Shaz~ [ This Message was edited by: Shaz on 2002-02-28 02:14 ]
Let me be the first to say welcome to the forum!!! As for if they are all bad I am not sure. I have herd of ppl putting cursed armor on NPC to take care of them without a fight. Outer than that I am not sure.
Clarification Cursed items are magickal items enchanted with some very powerful properties (as you mentioned, 3-18 fire damage). The downside for such power however is that the weapon damages the wielder to some extent, or give you nrgstive bonuses. ( I had a sword that torn my armour apart after a few swings. Good at chopping enemies though. I've also had a pair of boots that had high defense and increased speed but drained my fatigue considerably). Also, I had a helmet that increased my magickal aptitude by 20 but reduced my alignment with 20. Hope this helped you.
