been playing a technologist gnome & am currently stuck investigating the dwarf clan bit, I got the looking glass rifle but all the fire golem things keep killing me so: 1. how much dex do you need to shoot the looking glass rifle twice a turn & how is this speed worked out? 2. does the healing jacket come in gnome size? Is there another way for tech characters to rest back health? this smilie is here purely because I liked it :throwup:
the healing jacket can be made in gnome size, but you can't find one in the game. The best way to heal tech charactes is to get Jayna to make you potions and heal you with them and with bandaages.
you cant MAKE one in the game? or you cant FIND one? which did you mean? and if you cant do either in the game then thats just lame, arcanum is a great game but its got some shortcomings... i guess you could always use the editor to put one in the game and then go to that location and get it, if you dont want to feel guilty about it, just learn your character up to the point where he could make one and then find all the ingredients and throw one away, youll have gone through the same process a normal size character would have needed to go through in the first place, so youll be guilt free

With an apprentice status you should be able to make two shots at speed 12 (usually equals to DX 12 unless you're encumbered). The healing jacket question had been answered. Alternative ways of healing for a technologist: Investing 1 point in Herbology to be able to make healing salves Investing into Heal skill to heal yourself using bandages Get a healer follower (Virgil can heal with bandages, Franklyn Payne can make and use healing salves, Jayna is the best as she can do both) Sleep for some time Pay Doc Roberts in Shrouded Hills or the Herbalist for healing you If you keep your tech aptitude at 25 or lower, you can be effectively healed by magic wielding followers (Virgil, Dante, Perriman Smythe) or heal yourself using scrolls, some megic items or those little red bottles that you always find plenty.
Two points in electrical for 2 charged rings. + 2 DX each. Get Janya, her Therapudics will give you +2 each DX, ST, PE. Run a search.
