Last night my house eperienced a power surge and as a consequence my computer restarted while I was saving, when I attempted to load the game i go a mesage stating that it was corrupt. Is there a way I would be able to transfer all my progress from the corrupted save into another save file or am
    I screwed?

Also I apologise if this question may have been posted in the past

Heh heh. Once my save was so corrupted, I wound up in the middle of Arcanum as a human male, without any clothes on, with a 'human shopkeeper', also without any clothes, and a chest full of the stuff you would buy from the shopkeeper at the beginning of the game.

He just kept saying how odd my lack of clothing was.

And no, the game was corrupted to the point that I couldn't save a screenshot...

You could always just use the mighty Print Screen button. ;)

That situation is one of two possible effects of screwing a savegame. It either just says, thet it's screwed, or teleports you to the naked shopkeeper with the beggining chest, while you are transformed to a human male called "None" (and than says it's screwed). Actually, a few times, the second situation happened to me when I oftenly quick saved and quick loaded several times the same save (I did that in the begining of the game when my only combat skill was firearms, bacause lacking amunition was a serious problem for example at the crash site), but when I quickly exited the game and launched it again, the save was cured. But that worked for me only with the fast-multi-quicksave-&-quickload bug. When the save screwed that way by a diffrent cause, I could sadly do nothing, except loading an erlier save.

I've had that happen twice. One time it was with a character I was really enjoying too. As a consequence of that I always keep a backup save for each run through.

I always save a permanent save every time I level up. Good strategy.
