Is combat feedback supposed to appear in the message window or does it only appear (in a limited form) over characters heads in main window.

If so, is there anyway to change options to get more feedback. I would really like to know how much damage I am doing, and other more detailed feedback than is currently provided in main window.

I know these are likely stupid questions, but its been so long since ive played the game, i dont know if im doing something wrong.

I think this is the wrong forum.

I thought this an appropriate forum as it is a general question about game mechanics that could easily be answered by experienced players, and does not necessarily constitute a bug. Not trying to be a pain, just seeking some general input.

general discussion is just what it means. unfocused discussion in relation to general topics. nothing specific, if you need something specific, as in tips about gameplay mechanics, then you want to post in the hints and tips forum, no matter how simple the question is. but dont swet it, first timers are prone to mistakes, its not even a big one, at least you didnt dig up a really old thread like i did the first time i posted (i think thats what i did, either way i got flamed for whatever it was i said, but that hasnt really changed since then, but blah io'm rambling.)

welcome to the house of lords!

    Hi there! :wavey:

To my knowledge, there's no way to receive combat feedback in the message window. Sorry :-( .

You can, however, see how much damage you're doing :). Simply enter the Options menu, click on Video, and then change Floats to "Verbose". All Physical/Fatigue damage given and taken will now be displayed.

In the future, please confine all questions regarding gameplay and spoilers to the Hints & Tips forum. This one falls in the grey area between, so I don't really care, but appearently someone did...

Cool down a bit, Sleek... you're scaring away the newcomers!

Duly chastised. Ironic in that I was trying to avoid misposting by not posting in Hints/Tips because it was not directly plot or spoiler related. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

PS Thanks for the input, dark elf, even though i was in wrong forum.

In general, if it is about the game, it goes in hints & tips. We have a few posters here who like to lean HARD on new chums, & those who have warned you were new & leaned hard on recently. Why these post natzis like to lean on the newbies, I don't know, unless it is to make up for a lack of power in real life. I will apoligize for them in advance,

You can also adjust float speed so you have time to read it.

If you want, you could save, then smack virgil to see how much damage he takes, then you can reload him if you want.
