    Big talk from a man who lives in a country where other men wear furry black things on their heads in order to better protect their Queen. Besides I for on e enjoy reading Milo's keen insight on the workings of the wonder that is Disney

    SMS = Simple Message Service.

    Some people know it as small/short message service. I can't remember which is the proper one (the proper one is the one that most poeple have never heard of BTW).

    No, SMS is an actual function. People spend hundreds of dollars sending them each month (esp impressionable teenages, esp impressionable teenage girls), especially impressionable teenage girls, who can send a maximum sized SMS using only one hand in 5 seconds, before most people have found where the SMS send function even is on their phone.

    Damn right Jar.
    But that's depressing. I somehow find all of the SMS tapping business depressing.
    That's why I got myself a Nokia communicator. Things are much more simple.

    Did you know that, due to the excessive mobile phone use by our younger generations, our children are becoming genetically different to the rest of the human race?

    They are actually developing thumbs that are longer and more agile, like another finger and if this carries on then in as few as 5 years, we are going to have to reclassify the human race, or at least create a new subspecies (as in a new variant rather than an inferior species) for our children.

    Aaargh! Mutants all of them! Bring out the X-Men!

    You are joking right, Ferret? What is this: longer fingers give an edge in natural selection? Since it’s easier to use the cell phone it’s easier to date and mate?
    This is weird, unless you are following a non-Darwinist evolutionary theory. If so, could you indicate some literature on this?

    No - the rate of mutation has increased due to exposure to radiation. Naturally it is localised in the parts kept in contact with the source of radiation (fingers, mouth and ears).

    Radiation making thumbs longer and more agile, instead of giving a nice skin cancer? This certainly sounds like X-Men stuff.

    Disclaimer: I don’t know a from b in biology, but this is weird.

    SMS is the devil, but if you go to certain sites on the internett you can terrorise people with mobilephones with constant sms. it is fun :)

    I'm feeling rather miffed - why can't I be genetically and radioactively modified like the hypothetical kids 5 years from now? I want longer and extra fingers dammit!

    Actually there is no Darwinist evolution involved at all. S_F, yes there is a small amount of radiation involved, but it is mainly due to the excessive use of mobiles at too young an age, so the thumbs don't stop growing for a while. Over the generations of computer and phone users, this has become a measurable genetic trait.

    Dawinist evolution doesn't really apply to the human race because we quite literally shag anything that moves, whether it's got 18 toes, two heads or bleats.
