Yes as in "Yes I understand", "Yes I tried that" or simply a random utterance of the positive function "yes" as an attempt to relieve otherwise life-threatening internal pressure?

Please explain the bolded parts. They don't make sense. I tried to date a hard-core Christian once... it ended after 2 months [of flirting] when she told me she couldn't date me because I refused to convert. I was rather sad at the time because she has one of the nicest racks I never got to see (more than a bikini). But now I'm dating a nice little number. =]

It's apparent that all hardcore Christians have nice racks that I attribute to nutricious upbringings. And also apparent that they are some of the most intolerant sons'a bitches to ever live.

Anyone who is "hardcore" about anything regarding religion is basically a zealot and as such are "intolerant sons'a bitches" by definition.

It isn't just Christians either, Muslims are certainly guilty of this, as is every other religion (except for maybe Buddhism). People who reach the point of actively ignoring the opposing side and generally ignoring reason are assholes who degrade and belittle the religion they pretend to believe in.

    /end rant

Some of the most intollerant people I've met are hardcore atheists.

And just because we don't agree with the "scientific consensus" doesn't mean we ignore reason. It just means that we don't agree.

That aside, there's no reason to be an asshole about whatever you believe. Just don't misconstrue my belief that non-Christians are going to hell as me being an asshole. It's what I believe. Get over it.

But if that's what you choose to believe, Japes, the I say that you're an asshole. HOW can you choose to follow a god who punishes non-eternal sins with eternal pain? How can you choose to follow a god who throws people into the fire, just for being raised by their parents to believe in something different? Does god hate all those babies who aen't babtized, or does he just not care? Good thing that the pope has removed limbo (WHAT THE FUCK?) so that all those innocent souls gets to go straight to hell instead! Yeehaw, that really is a guy to look up to!

If you want to, I can line up more and more embarrasing stuff about this "god" person. If you actually mean that everybody that does not believe in Christianity (or is it your branch of it?) will go to hell, then you've deserved the title asshole far more than many.

You don't choose what to believe Wolfsbane. If Japes believes that I will go to hell for being an atheist, that's probably not because he chose to believe that, but rather because he's convinced that that is the truth.

Also, to be honest if I believed the Christian bible to be true, I'd be following/worshipping Yahweh too, come on. Who the hell would want to be eternally punished?

I, as I've mentioned earlier am an atheist, and as such my personal belief is that there are no gods. Whenever I'm asked to justify this belief I try as best as I can to be an arsehole about it as I don't like being preached to: Normally I quote Stephen F. Roberts:
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

But I don't however go proclaiming to believers that they are morons for not believing the same as me. Just imagine how boring the world would be if everyone were of the same opinions.

In summary: Being convinced of something doesn't constitute being an arsehole, wolf. Calling someone an arsehole for no reason they themselves can control however, does.
