Character Editor/Armor ?: I have read posts!

Hello!

After years of not playing this game I decided to start it all up again. In doing so, I have vague memories of being confused (and getting clarification) to questions I had on this very forum and decided to try my luck again!

The questions are as follows:

1. Character editors: I've tried to download every one I could find (some flagged as spyware) and even with the most popular one, they do not work. With the most popular one (where you have to register the files and place them in your Windows\Sys folder), it just keeps giving me error after error. Maybe it's because this computer is only a year old and using a new version of Window's?

2. One of the stats on armor is listed as DR and I have read the manual and googled ad nauseum and still have no freakin' idea what DR is and thus would like to know.

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

DR is short for Damage Resistance. Respectively, ER stands for Electrical Resistance, FR stands for Fire Resistance, etc.

 

Anything that suggests you put it in the system directory is very suspicious AT BEST.

In any case, the only savegame editor I've ever used was Arcanum Character Editor.

I am not sure if I am allowed to post external links to cheat sites here, so I will avoid doing so. Google be your help.

The character editor you listed is the one, in the readme files, that tells you to place the .ocx and .dll's in the Win Sys folder if there are errors when you try to run it. Even when I do the necessary file moving around, it still gives me a richtx32.ocx (I may have the file name wrong in this box, only because I don't want to try to run run the program again) file won't work due to missing dependencies.

However, after scouring around for a bit more I did find the ingame cheats that were helpful. I don't want to make the game crazy easy, I just hate not having money to repair items. I'm broke the majority of time in real life, why deal with it in an environment I can control!

I do have one more question about scrolls. I am not sure if I should include it here or move it to another forum, but I figure it's better to not add another weird post so here goes: With the Divine Magick scrolls, I can't seem to actually use them to identify things. If I left click them, my cursor glows and puts me out of my inventory. If I then get back in (via re clicking the inv. box or by hitting 'I'), the cursor becomes normal. If I'm in my inventory box and I right click, the scroll seems to vanish and possibly goes to my quick inventory bar. Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong?

Open the inventory and drag the scroll to the hand icon on the right side of the inventory, I think that's how it works. If it doesn't, put the scroll into a hotkey and use it from there with closed inventory.
