Actually I believe that the verse in question is misinterpreted. That it actually refers to the fact the flood will arrive in 120 yrs. I just quoted it so it would be known where the idea came from.

    • "And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared: And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died." Genesis 5:15-17

    65/13 = 5

If you are dividing by 13, Don't you think you should be dividing all of the numbers? That would result in some awfully young parents.

Of course, I am an idiot. Know-it-alls are always idiots for Idiots are defined by low learning abilities and you can't learn if you know everything already. But what, pray tell, made you think that I am an iditot?

My position is too eliminate all illogical arguments. How can you convince others of the validity of your position when you use arguments that are so easy to disprove or ignore?

From a religion point-of-view, I believe in the bible. From a philosophy point-of-view, I accept all possiblities. Now, if the bible does contain fallacious information, how can I be convinced of it when your arguments don't hold water? But if the sole purpose of your own arguments are to convince yourself of a thing, do you really believe your own arguments?

Now if you wish to test your arguments against me, that is your choice. But don't expect me to roll over just because you use emotional arguements.

Knowledge is power. I am giving others Power when I provide knowledge, but it would seem that most would rather be powerless than have knowledge.

Are you claiming to be a prophet?

I'm just going by what I believe: that God came to me and told me you were a fool and an idiot. Call me what you will, but I know so much, as I have found the Word of God, that I am now the Divine Rubber, and you are glue.

That's strange, if what I call you bounces off you and sticks to me, then I am the prophet who hears the voice of God. Are you sure you want to employ that argument?

"...the foolishness of God is wiser than men..." (1 Corinthians 1:25a) I have been calling myself a fool for years because I would rather obey God's foolishness than be wise. But what does it mean to have wisdom anyways, but to possess a self-conceit in one's own knowledge? No one knows everything, save God. Therefore, it is better to be fool than believe in one's own wisdom.

Pardon me, but I am starting to find this humorous.

I asked, and he's well up for it. This is the Word of the LORD.

Alright, I'll ask; If God knows everything, why does he get upset when we don't listen? That would appear to be fault on the part of our creator, in creating a fallible organism (man), expecting us to follow his 614 mitzvot, getting upset when we break them, and responding in a manner punitive to man, as though we perpetrated unforseen consequences and surprised him by acting in a manner natural to us.

Think of Dr Manhattan, he told whats her name that she was going to tell him about sleeping with the guy then he acted shocked when she told him. Time is irrelevant to God.

Ah, that makes sense; He's just patronising us.

Don't all parents get upset when their children do something harmful to themselves or to others?

As for the 614 mitzvot, Judaism position is that only the Jews are held accountable for them as part of God's covenant with them. The covenant with the Gentiles, according to Judaism, is the 7 Laws of Noah. see http://www.jewfaq.org/gentiles.htm#Noah

I can't be sure, but I think that Gross was referring to God's omniscience; something which most parents lack.
