I'm playing a theif, and keep finding doors, chests, and other such matter. After lockpicking, I still can't open them. Do I just ignore them? or do I get a buddy to pound on it with a hammer? Thanks.
Oh my...did you know you just screwed up alot of chests, doors and other locked things...when you fail it jams...and if you save...its jammed forever. If you lockpick a shopkeeper's chest and jammed it, you could open it but after you destroy his chest you wont get items on a daily basis. <font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: FluffyLittleRabbit on 2001-12-29 17:59 ]</font>
Apprentice lockpicking is rough and you probably should save before attempting to pick a chest or door. Once jammed, only the key will open it until the game resets it for the next day. Yes, you can destroy the door or chest too; but then that's one less spawn site to raid if it's a merchant's box.
Thanks for the replies folks. Dang dang dang. I've been jamming things all over the place. But especially annoying is that I've jammed what looks to be one heck of nice chest full of stuff....the one where I kill the Schuyler wizards. I wonder if I could dynamite it open. <gg> Cheers.
Yeah I would recomend pounding them open. Get a second wepon strictly for pounding open a locked door or crate. Pyrotechic Axe is best because it doesnt get damaged
