Almost forgot this feature - as in Fallout series, you can make called shots in Arcanum (IIRC Comma, Period and Slash for Head, Arms or Legs).

Have anyone tried called shots? Are they worth doing? Do you just cause more damage, or can you cripple (or even insta-kill?) a foe?

I do remember seeing something about that in the Arcanum Manual. I am not 100% sure about it tho.

There seems to be a pretty hefty hit penalty involved and its never mentioned what that is. Firearms expert reduces it by 2/3 whatever it is though. Still you'll miss more often.

I tried it with firearms quite a bit and you don't seem to get anymore criticals and it seemed like you actually got less but when you do them they tend to be better. For example you'll get a lot of the "weapon dropped" crits. Occasionally when aiming for the head you'll crits you normally don't see like Blinded. Stunned also seemed to be more common with headshots.
Couldn't really tell if there was any special effects for arm and leg criticals.

Ive used it a lot, but I normally aim for the head, other shots don't do that much damage. Great when sniping golems and the like..

Basically called shots are alife saviour for gunslingers - especially in the mid-game.
