I'm pretty disappointed by that report though. The paper I originally read it in made it sound like the dogs were badly savaged.

Maybe it's testing it's Spring Attack technique. Now that it knows that the dogs won't expect it, it may try to savage them next time.

Ah but the difference is with the Buddhist Inquisition there are no wrong answers. So it devolves into street theatre rather than torture and execution.

 

Torture and execution is only during the intermission, and only administered to those who refuse to answer.
