I actually don't care about eating meat, if it comes from a decent source, like the local people's farms.
there's dental evidence that humans are made to be omnivorous, that being since many years ago, and things like that are "written" in our DNA, so the action of trying to change it would be going against our nature, rather than with it.
Ergo: Eating animals is human, but eating plants is also human, so there's no point on saying what's more natural.
When it comes onto respect, there should be a lot of respect to animals, 'cause they feed us. i'm totally against experiment with animals, but i don't see eating animals the hippie way others see it.

(but if you ask me i prefer a bloody beef rather than a patch o' grass)

Crypton, if you're so ashamed of humanity for killing and using the bodies of animals for food, clothing, or cosmetic ingredients, you may as well campaign for the eradication of carnivorous species.

Human propagation is inevitable, and honestly our expansion already screws shit up for the "natural" world. So, I propose that you move herbivores out of the way of human expansion and replace them with carnivores;

I'm sorry but do you really think debudding calves is inhumane? With horns they gore the shit out of each other, and it's not viable on a large scale farming business to give all calves anaesthetic, but I guess by your logic one moment of pain isn't worth the agony of being carved up by horns in later life?

About them being stood in their own shit and urine, my Dad owned a small farm and at one point he had about 30 cows. Those cows shat all over each other. They weren't kept indoors and had a few good sized fields to roam around in (I can't remember the exact acreage but they weren't small) and they still succeeded in shitting all over each other. One mother actually took a dump all over its calves face whilst it was feeding, and as it didn't rain it remained like that for about a week. Cows are dumb stupid animals and if you think they care about things that us humans would then you're sorely mistaken.

I know that video didn't showcase the best side of farming, but it was hardly a concentration camp. On with a large scale farming business some concessions have to be made to keep it commericially viable, to think otherwise is just moronic. Not spotting that cow's infected leg in a farm of over 1,000 or so other healthy cows is really not the horror that video is making it out to be.

You're not convincing anyone with a video like that, stop trying to demonise an industry you clearly know fuck all about. If you can come back with a slightly more educated viewpoint and some valid arguments other than "FARMING IZ EVIL!! FREE THE COWZ!!!" then maybe people might stop treating you like a complete joke.

Most importantly, I think you're forgetting this.

 

1. Yes I love animals. I love them to bits. Omnomnom. I especially love bacon.

2. Natural law will punish or reward the deepest volition of the mind, not the physical action. This is the measure of morality.

3. Therefore hating people for their ignorance, which rolls them in misery as well as the meat-animals, is a more dire sin than merely eating the flesh of your fellow creatures.
