Boat to Thanatos 50.000 or ?

Just wanted to confirm that there is no other way than paying the 50k to purchase a ship to Thanatos. So ffar I tried;

-talking to Bates for leading me to Teach, but no talk about it.
-checked Gypsy the ship of Teach in Ashbury along with Payne in party (as they are old friends wondered whether a trigger would happen, but Teach is absent on his ship)

I can afford 50k, but would rather not to do so and buy bullets and charges for my consumption crazy team (healing jackets - on the contrary to common thought followers consume charge with shocking staff and healing jacket but only when below max HP- shocking staff, tranquiler gun, flow spectometor, tesla rod now think of it with 4 firearms in party)

 

Ask around in Black Root, there are a few more solutions.
