I've benn here many times but this is the first time with Dante. There is an orgre bandit that when you kill him Dante doesn't want you killing unnecessarily! and you loose a rep point. If you let dante wait you don't get the feedback but you still loose a point. I've let this guy beat on me (everyone waiting) and I still loose the point and he charges you first. I've tried to get into position to see his reaction but hes hiding in a corner and the curser can't find him. Also I've found that when those kite guys start heckling you if you kill them you loose a point. I just walk around them and they finally stop their whining.......death is good for them. So I've played all this time loosing points when I didn't know it. I now keep checking the character screen to see if I've lost one then reload and figure it out. The thing with this bandit, I can't figure. Parmanian
Usually, if you let the something attacking you take a swing at you, you don't lose an alignment point. I have no idea which bandit you're referring to or why it's happening, could you explain where you're having this problem?
its on the 4th level of the black mountain mines, the area before the corpse laying by a table and a chest in the area (farthest area away from entrance/exit. He is by a door that leads to another barracks area with another corpse laying there. By the way right in front of the door is a corpse. When you approach the door he jumps out at you and attacks. I just let him be and went on............. Just to let you know if you loose a point while on this level, it was from him. He had the normal scrool/traps, note, and amulet of the hand. Parmanian
I think everyone on that level (the bandits anyway) will die from the traps, rats, and kites if you give them enough time. The only one I've never seen die on his own is the male dark elf in the, um, southwest corner. Maybe that ogre is good-aligned? Like that annoying female barbarian in Kree who always sets Magnus off if I attack her before she finishes killing Virgil. Damn that Magnus!
before you get to that elf your talking about, thats the area where the ogre is and he is not friendly and attacks you on sight. Maybe he thinks your one of the bad guys killing all his friends and why he is hiding in a corner....hehehe Parmanian
Hmph. ...good people.... I kept the half ogre around until his whining about killing good people one time finally sent me over the edge. I took all his stuff, put it in a barrel, and told him to wait by a lit stick of dynamite. To the moon, Soggy! As for Magnus, well, I just couldn't stand him to begin with. I just kept insulting him until he attacked me in front of P Schuyler and Sons (of course dying with flying colors (mostly red (does no one in the game outside of a bar have any skill in gauging the strength of an opponent?! He was probably up past his bed time))).
PFFTT!!!! I'm currently annoyed with Sebastian who gets pissed off at me whenever I try to pick a lock. SEBASTIAN!!!!! He's like, what, +2 on the Evil-o-meter?! He's not evil per se, but he's definitely one of the dodgiest followers in the game, and HE'S telling ME not to pick a lock??? Unbelievable.
In all my games I haven't had sogg complain about who he killed....hehehe, its this dante guy who showed me an ogre thief that you loose a rep point for killing even when he smack the xxxx out of you first. As for magnus, I just use him to make them specs that go for 900 a pop! Parmanian
Dante always moans about it when you kill good critters. Even when they atack first. The other goody goody two shoes NPCs only whine if you atack the good ones first. Yes, the 1/2 Ogre on the village level is good. I have no idea why. Perhaps he had limited choices and role models when he grew up. Perhaps it was joining the Hand or debtor's prison. In any event, he is there, just kill him. If you are evil, you want the point, if you are good, you can afford to lose it. He started it, & he doesn't need his armor or Crushing Hammer anymore, does he? And you can Dark Helm him & he will still moan about it when you kill good critters.
I thought maybe we had a bug there because you can't get the chance to pickpocket at least. Loosing that one point isn't that big of a deal when he has that thousand dollar scroll on him. Just like them crazy people in Ashbury that just plain don't like you. Not being magical can you charm a person during battle? then steal his stuff and leave! Parmanian
A friend used Charm on the pair in the open sewers in Tarant. It worked like a... well charm. They were happy to see her & watched while she emptied the chests. BTW, she can go back & say hi without triggering a fight.
