Blasted Tesla rods!

Is it just me, or are the Tesla rods at least twice less accurate than any other ranged weapon? I just had Sebastian with PE 20 and 5 points in Firearms shooting Dog instead of the Were-rat FOUR TIMES OUT OF FOUR! In the turn based combat, when the enemies just stand there waiting to be hit! Bloody unbelievable!

 

i dont think turn based makes it easier to hit your enemies, its the same as when they're moving. i dont know if the tesla rod uses he firearm stat for determining whether you hit or not...

 

It does with the weapons that shoot slow, visible projectiles- like Bronwyck's gun or Tesla rod. By the time they hit the place where the target was, it can already move half screen.

Well, at least with Firearms apprentice the Tesla rod speed boosts up from 5 to 10, so I assumed that it is considered a firearm and not a melee weapon.

 

It uses firearms, yes. But Sebastian still has a high firearms ratings, starts at 3, I think, and definitely goes up to 5, so it still shouldn't happen. But it does.

 

I tried to check it. I only found out that internally it is a staff, which means that if it reacts to firearms skill I need to check another place. Of course, I did also realize that the system was messed up because it didn't load ammo type use, damage, or critical miss or hit. That might be the area in which the skill matters, but it may only be a partial affect, like, firearms is taken into affect, AND melee is taken into affect. I really need to spend like 4 more days just fucking with stuff to determine what's what though.

 

But both Vollinger and Sebastian have melee and firearms as well...

 

You need the Firearms skill to use the Tesla Rod. You don't need any Melee skill.

I was an apprentice in firearms, (I can't say my other skills offa da toppa me 'eada righta now) and wielding a Tesla Rod, and I killed myself!! since them I have considered them cursed, and they should be damned to hell... so I don't use them... they suck. that is my opinion.

I don't use them that much, but I've never had a problem.

 

The Tesla Rod is inded a ranged melee weapon that uses Firearms skill. It does awesome damage & is faster than the Tesla Gun. If you crit miss with it you can easily kill yourself & a nearby friend too. But if you crit miss with a Pyro axe... I once saw Chukka destroy his armor & himself with a crit miss & a Pyro Axe.

 

so he was instantly dead and naked simultaneously? awesome!

 

I've done that with explosives before, but I have never used pyro axe or bow. Seems perhaps I should be less electrically narrow minded
