not really too much it is just that it is soooo boring and i really want the internet to work plus i go to like 3 other forrums and i am the top in one of them plus i am always on KUF

 

Sorry Q, but d'ya know how talking about being "top" in a forum makes you sound to people who actually USE the thing? I'm not sure it's the road to glory and respect that you think it is.

I don't think the forum is supposed to be a competition. In a place where people generally made relevant/worthwhile posts, the ranks might be a sign of respect. But in a place where people make posts that are content-free/pointless the ranks mean nothing (at best - at worst they mean you're the biggest pain in the arse around). People doing that make the whole ranks feature pointless.

Crappy users like that break a lot of the features. Like the "last poster" feature. It COULD be useful to know that the laster poster on a topic was Milo or Saint Proverbius (for example) because they generally have something worth hearing to say. If someone comes onto the forum after they have made their posts and attaches a smile post to every thread, when I come on I won't be able to see that the useful post have been made. All I'll see is that every post has a meaningless rank-chasing post on the end.

Sorry to be the old whiney Fatman again (where is Wump, anyway?) Queth. I really don't want you to disappear. I hope you don't think I'm against having a grin. I enjoy the joke/silly posts and threads (I've made enough of them!). Even the insults can be laugh. It's just the rank chasing I hate.

Game sites are for competing. Forums are for chatting.

Knowing your dislike of long posts, I'm not sure you'll have got this far. Even if you do get here, I suppose it'll just be seen as killjoy bitching. Oh well, at least I've got it off my chest. I've been thinking it practically since I joined, and I feel a bit more honest now I've said it.

 

well really fatman i dont really care about being #1, Arcanum is getting real boring and people keep asking the same Question....so i have decided to leave and plus i have 1 guild on SC and one on KUF so i need to be on those games more....well c ya all laterz(mabey i wont) but i will most likly come back every now and then....oh and i did read all the way through your post :smile:
