Anyone tried creating a barbarian? I've got a half-orc with barbarian background, so my reaction modifier is already pretty low. Then I slaughtered everyone in Shrouded Hills (with the help of a few speed potions) getting the Dread Armor from the smith (even lower reaction). Put some points into White Necro, killed Virgil and got Torian Kel. I got the Bangellian Scourge as soon as the mountain pass opened. Now my reaction is so low, people start randomly attacking me when I'm walking through Tarant! Everybody else has a reaction of 2. It's great fun, though. I'm ridiculously fast -- 20 dex, Enchanted War Boots, Hasten and Speed Potion gives me a speed of 75! Can't wait to fight Stringy Pete. -Poiuyt Man
I haven't beaten Pete with any of my characters so far. Do you get his ship if you kill him? -Poiuyt Man
Yes though I would advise you to run for it when you kill him for the moment you end the fight his crew will appear. I couldn't beat them even with my max ST&DX potion of speed, b scourge and full plate half-ogre.
Unless you're in turn mode, and disarm them first. Desintegrate is also nice. Note: they're resistant to piercing and slashing - a nice hammer or mace will do more damage.
Is it really that hard to kill stringy P and his Crew? I think it'll be easy for my Mage but alot harder for me theif techy. What ya think ? 3
Hmm... good advice. I was able to kill Stringy Pete in the first turn, but had to use 5 fate points to pickpocket the weapons off his crew. -Poiuyt Man
The worst thing about Pete's crew are those 2 or 3 skeletons with high speed weapons who "take care" of your fatigue damn quickly.
Trying to beat Senor Pete with a thief... that makes for some pretty death animations ... Mmmm, hammers, a lot of fun. Pity there's no good ones in the game, apart from the Iron Clan Hammer. Or are there?
Why not just use a disarm scroll or 5? Or better yet, just learn the disarm spell in the conveyance college. 2nd spell I believe.
Pete is no problem with the right help. Look here. http://community.sierra.com/WebX?14@96. ... 9@.ef97bc1 Disarm DOES help.
LOL, I really should have thought of that. Oh well, I didn't really have any other plans for using the fate points. Dragoon, enemies never pick up their weapons in combat mode. Makes disarm an extremely useful spell, especially when slaughtering Maug/Pollock's gangs. -Poiuyt Man
Barbarians I have tried. 1/2 Orc female. Both good & evil. Rocking battle mages. Gnome, to offset the reaction & haggle minuses & up the Gnomish CN. He is just a baby, 10 or 12 level & will probably study Smithy & Temporial.
