automatic gun schematic help!

I’m playing as a gun smith, and got the automatic gun schematic (essentially I need an auto reloader and repeating rifle), and I have those two items.

The kicker is that when I try to make the new gun, I get a “I lack the experience to make the gunâ€￾. However, I’m a “doctorateâ€￾ in gun smithy (the highest level). What the hell do I need to do to make my gun? Or is this just a bug?

 

How high is your intelligence? If you used any Essence of Intellect to buy your degrees then you won't have the "technical expertiese" to actually use your schematics. Are you able to build elephant guns?

 

Just a thought: some found schematics need you to have a certain degree in more than one skill. I don't know if the automatic gun schematic is one of those, though. You should check. If that is the problem, buy sufficient manuals of the other discipline at the university of Tarant and you should be okay.

What Langolier says, is not completely true, though: I never invest much points into Intelligence when I'm playing a tech character. Just buy those intelligence potions and drink one just before you make a schematic. You'll have time enough to build the item, and once your intelligence drops back to what it was, you'll still be able to use the item.

If that ain't the problem, it's probably a bug.
