Because our affluent societies provide us with the spare time required to gush and whine over life's injustices on a php bulletin board?

The fact that Norway is best goes more towards how shitty the rest of the world is, than how good Norway is...

The next time I'll get pissed about the country I live in (which will be in about 5 minutes), I will sit down, rock and repeat over and over again how Poland is eleven ranks higher on that list than the Bahamas.

    Hah, that's rich.

What about extreme levels of UV radiation? Or shitty climate? Or the dumb laws?

No offense to the Aussies, but I wouldn't want to live in Australia.

P.S. That list is seriously bollocks. I mean, Jesus, they rated Russia higher than China and France higher than Japan.

    Aussie weather at its finest.

Still, Australia produced Ned Kelly, Men At Work and platypi, so it can't be all that bad.

That's as may be, but we also produced Little Johnny Howard, an endless number of incredibly bad country and western groups, and Midnight Oil.

None of those are something to be proud of, really. Johny Howard still isn't as fucked as Tasmanian politics, though.

We (as in Tasmania) also produced that crazy she-man that one the noble prize for discovering a new enzyme whenever that was.

Besides, Midnight Oil fits nicely in the 'incredibly bad category'. And of course that list is a load of crap, we just think we're happy because it's nineteen eighty-four.

That's only if you actually live in the Bahamas, not if you vacation/tax exile there.

No! My bubble! It has been burst!
What you say is of course reasonable, yet it's still comforting that the place where I am is heigher on that list when it comes to day-to-day living. After all, living in th Bahamas would appear to be a paradise for some (not for me though - way too hot).

I'm not a fan of the sheer amount of water. Give me a landlocked home any day.

If you guys had just improved your Communist system instead of giving up and trying to make it in the Capitalist environment...

we, as a forum, need to go take over an island in the Bahamas. Or maybe Cuba.

Tristan da Cunha, remote enough for privacy, yet inhabited with enough slaves-to-be.

Now we only need a small dangerous island in the neighborhood where we can place our prisoners, sacrifices, and all those who would oppose us.

It seems that the Netherlands is on the 6th place on the list. Wow, I wonder how that came to be .
