Well it probably matters more in parts of Southern California, which has the largest population of skinhead gangs compared to any other part of the USA. In 1970's england there were riots between punks and skinheads in the poorer areas. Skinheads started popping up in England around that time ue to an economic depression and some serious anti-immigration sentiment because of that. There was even a skinhead Ska movement known as Two Tone, back in 1970's london, I laughed pretty hard when I found out about that.

But its no longer the 70's and Sigurd doesn't live in these areas, so it doesn't matter now.

My usual manner of dress is jeans, combat boots, my spiked belt, and a band shirt or wife-beater. My head is usually shaved, so yes, I probably do look like a skin-head. I also now have a wallet that says Bad Motherfucker on it, which is awesome and gives me a constant boner.

Holy shit sigurd, you're awesome. Too bad you're such a god damned fascist.

<edit> that sure was a confusing typo... wonder how I pulled that off?

There are some real bad asses in this video. At one point they show a bleached blonde, shortish, punk guy with two other punks, the camera is on him for a while and at one point you can see that he has a blue jean jacket hanging off his left shoulder. That guy used to be in a band from Boston called the Pinkerton Thugs. He's a total bad ass.

I know...dictionary definitions are just fun to post, because you can't argue with Those dudes who are smart and write stuff in a big leather book. But seriously though, I'm pretty far from fascist, due to my belief in liberty and a "hands-off" approach to government. Like, get your filthy hands of my paycheck, guns and kids!

Are you being serious? Did he kick your ass? I find that although punks can often take a hit (piercings, moshing, ups the pain tolerance), they usually can't really fight very well. Don't get me wrong, there are few things more dangerous than a gang of angry punks after your unarmed, outnumbered ass, but one-on-one they aren't spectacular, on the whole. No time to practice martial arts when you are listening to music, going to shows, and "rebelling" all the time.
THERE WAS A BLACK PUNK AT THE PARK! OH MY GOD!

That black guy was from another band I'm unfamiliar with, but I know they're pretty famous, I just can't remember their name right now. That pinkerton thugs guy is a bad ass because there are tons of people who would kick your ass for touching him, I don't know if he himself can fight, because I don't know him. By the way, these aren't the "sit around rebelling" punks, thats a different, younger, less sincere breed. BTW, why does being a bad ass always have to mean, the ability to fight well?

I really don't think you understand the concept of what real punks are, or what the sincere ones stand for. Its not that amazingly important, but yeah, listen to something other than hatebreed for once. The pinkerton thugs, or Aus-Rotten, wouldn't be bad places to start.

I love the irony of what I'm about to say: I hate hatebreed. It's not music, it's just a guy screaming into the microphone while someone stands behind him with a guitar, and goes nuts on it, and some other idiot bashes the drums to high hell. I know that you guys'll insult my taste in music, but I don't like a lot of punk or heavy metal because it all sounds like that.

I highly agree. I can't even understand most rap/heavy rock/metal songs. I just don't like them unless I can at least understand what they are saying.

You're not listening to the right punk bands then.

Pinkterton Thugs, Dead Milkmen, Dead Kennedy's, Choking Victim, Leftover Crack, Morning Glory, Against Me!, Defiance Ohio, and Minor Threat (may be), are some excellent examples of how Punk isn't always screaming chaos.

Yeah, and the names are good examples of how, when it's not screaming chaos, it's degrading bullshit.

Hmmmm... Sure, I assume you've listened to the music by every single one of those bands? Levtover Crack, and Choking Victim, and Morning Glory are pretty self-depricating, and aren't totally serious about a lot of things, but then again, they are about a lot of things. Like homelessness and aptathy and drug addiction. I don't think you really know what you're talking about if thats not what you're talking about. Listen to some minor threat and then tell me that they sing about degrading subject matter.

While your at it add Fugazi to that list...

I've never listened to them, but I am talking about their band titles. If you ask me, "Choking Victim" and those others sound like rather degrading names.

I've actually never listened to hatebreed; I was just talking about punks that I know. And the fact that people around you will kick an opponent's ass for you does not make you badass, it makes you a charismatic individual, which is pretty cool as well. I happen to be both. Like, in the situation with the Angry Latins (gotten pretty far off topic, but that's to be expected), I would have sent a couple of those girls to the ICU, if pressed, to scare the shit out of the rest of them, making me badass. But, if their combined wieght and strength had suceeded in pulling me down, my four freinds standing by would have rushed in and wrecked the bitches, therefore proving me charismatic. Or maybe just that I have loyal freinds, but I bet you most of the crowd would try to help as well.

    Word.

You're going to be a great mother.

My friend just had the opportunity of seeing him "MC" a show for some very sub par punk bands (alkaline trio, NOFX and some other crappy band not worth mentioning) he said the best part of the show was when Jello saing the DK classic "Too Drunk To Fuck" with NOFX playing it.

Needless to say I'm very jealous of my friend.
