So, are you psyched? I know Arkham Asylum might not be the most popular game around here, but personally I've pre-ordered Arkham City from two different sites here in the UK to get both the main pre-order codes. I've heard the additional content will be available for purchase at a later date, but seeing as Arkham Asylum's never was I still don't want to take the risk on hearsay - I'll return one shortly after it arrives.

Personally I liked how Arkham Asylum crosses genres, it mixed up sweet button mashing combat with Splinter Cell like stealth and also some (albeit easy) problem solving - all of which Arkham City has promised to improve on. Also - almost rpg-styley - you can upgrade your character. Now I'll always have a special place in my heart for Arcanum - recently I designed two characters I'd want to play the game through with - but I feel like the batman series should be applauded for its versatility. Then again I guess I am a bit of a batman geek, just today I purchased more two more graphic novels to add to my collection and I regularly check on how The Dark Knight Rises is progressing.

So what are your feelings on the upcoming game, or just on the route the series has taken as a whole? Post up your hatred or love either way.

Sure, I'm pumped. Though the motion capture for Harley Quinn is a man.

So it is Blood Omen 2 with Batman? Sounds decent.

I'm still up in the air about the game. I think I read it will have a free form city like in GTA games, if that is the case then I will get it. I found the first game too linear for my liking. My other problem is deciding if I want to preorder at one place and get Robin as well as Earth-One Batman and the Animated Series Batman or if I choose to preorder somewhere else and get the 1970s Batman. I want the 70s but I also want Robin.

I didn't know that, I must say that's quite amusing.

Well from what I can tell it is much more non-linear; I've seen videos of the developers saying apart from the main storyline you can go anywhere and mess around with any other of Batman's rogues gallery as you please. The city is meant to be 4 times the size of Arkham Asylum and apparently no where or at least very little of the city is off limits from the start so there's a greater scope to do what you want.

In regards to the preorder as I said I read on the Arkham City forum that one of the mods or senior members had confirmed the fact with Rocksteady that you would be able to purchase the content as a DLC at a later date - but this still seems dubious to me. I think the Robin pack looks like a lot of fun, for all the extra characters you can play (i.e. Catwoman) they have their own unique fighting style and gadgets so they're meant to feel quite different than just playing with Batman. The Robin pack and the Joker pack are the two I'm getting.

How can you be exited about such drivel when the new Elder Scrolls is on it's way!? Grow some pubes and stop watching cartoons kids.

Probably for the same reason he can enjoy a candy bar right now even though he knows he's gonna eat some steak later that evening.

I'm not exited about Arkham City, but I certainly am excited about it! Trolling attempts are ruined by bad spelling.

I never played Oblivion or Morrowind but I have to say Skyrim looks pretty cool. I think the icy wasteland where it's set would look really nice graphically, and it's supposed to have improved upon Oblivion a great deal. Has anyone else heard anything particularly interesting about it that might entice me further? Still Skyrim isn't out til November (or is it December?) so it's still quite a while til it comes out, whilst Arkham City is pretty much right here right now!

Skyrim is out on 11-11-11. I never played oblivion, but one great update to Skyrim over the previous elder scrolls games is the ability to dual wield. You can go 2 handed, one handed and board, dual weapons, weapon and spell, two different spells, or dual the same spell to make it more powerful.

One of the neatest little features is the ability to rotate items in your inventory to examine them which will be needed to solve puzzles.

I also like that people will continue working while talking to you.
