Does this establish that you have more than one computer then? If you use one for building and browsing, what do you use any others for? Work?

I still have three working computers - The browser/build computer, the library one, and a 486 I'm using for extra mod back-up.

The library one needs a bigger hard drive before I could move the build to it.*
The 486 is maxed-out on RAM (the slots are full) but it's not enough for what I'm doing.

    * And no - it's not all porn!
Among other things I've collected over 22 GB of classic stories and series by various writers.
E.R. Burroughs, H.G. Wells, W. Shakespeare - just to name three.

Edit: It has two 40 gb hard drives.

    Thanks.
There's reasonably-priced hard drives to be found all over the place, but I've got bills to pay. The luxuries can wait.

If I had been drinking anything, it would by splattered all over the screen of my monitor. I've got to get a terabyte drive to back up all of my personal files* and music. Not to mention how much extra space I'd have just sitting under my desk. I'd be able to store movies in there and chuck my dvds, barring any horrible situation in which the drive shorted out or it died for some reason.

    *Porn.

I currently've dual 300s with one partitioned into dual drives. I currently've 220gb of free space.

    Nice setup.

I actually just saw a brand new PC with a very fast (don't remember exactly how fast) dual core processor, 3.5 gigs of RAM, and a 720 gig hard drive. All for $1100.

If money wasn't so tight for me I'd pick it up and get a fresh graphics card in it..I'd be up to date for another 6 months at least.

You know, I wouldn't bother. Even if you've the money, I'd advise waiting. If you buy something, it's going to come with Vista, and I wouldn't advise getting anything with Vista loaded on it atm, as there are still a few machines lurking around that were Vista machines that they hack-jobbed into working, and barely do.* I have Vista Ultimate, and actually enjoy it. It's nearly identical to XP, but will run some of my games that wouldn't run in XP, oddly enough. :)
