Wow, this game has quite the learning curve. I'm hours in and feel like I'm just scratching the surface.

 

Well at least you picked up on my love for beer. Though I am usually fond of peace, I'll stay in character and say that whenever I am drunk, the Elves can burn!

 

Dwarves only drink alcohol.

21st Galena: The farmers have been farming too slowly for us to keep up. There is a problem with hunger in Treebane!

19th Limestone (Month 7, Year 2): Some Dwarven traders came, so we sold them our cloth bin for some food. This should tide us over for a while.

16th Sandstone (Month 8, Year 2): Mesteut has been possessed!

11th Moonstone (Month 10, Year 2): Mesteut is a bitch when he's possessed. Everybody got together to start an entire leather industry to meet his needs. Today, he started work on this mysterious 'Kulinid' he has babbled about for two months.

16th Moonstone: After 5 days of work, Mesteut has produced this:

How am I supposed to destroy this fortress now that I'm crippled?

I'm holding you to that. No, really, holding you in quite a sensitive place at that.

 

Around the time of my last update, I noticed that Magikot's wounds had turned to 'yellow' (which is seriously injured) instead of 'red' (mangled), so he may one day walk again. It could take years, though. During one particularly strange moment, nobody was bringing him water so he almost died. I think they're trying to pull it out of the chasm waterfalls (there are two now, I'm irrigating), and keep canceling because the tiles are only filled for a few seconds at a time.

 

I am completely hopeless at DF and probably can't play anyway, but I'm quite happy to be in the next wave if you're still taking applicants.

This particular fortress might die, because DF2010 may or may not have just been released.

Bastard developer. From what I've downloaded, this seems legitimate, but all the DF chats and forums are down, so there is no way to really confirm.
