GameStats has posted an interesting little preview of Arcanum. The preview covers the broad base of things in the game, from character creation to combat to the world at large. Here's a clip from it:

Set in a steam punk world in the mid 19th century, Arcanum presents a remarkable departure from the post-apocalyptic future of Fallout and the distinctly medieval worlds of Baldur's Gate and other Dungeons and Dragons games. At its core, the world of Arcanum is in a delicate struggle to maintain balance between magick and technology. You see, in Arcanum the two co-exist, though often only loosely. A character highly specialized in technology will find casting spells nearly impossible and will likewise be much less vulnerable to magic attacks. Similarly, if you are a high level mage you will unable to use much technology and will not have much to fear from tech weapons. In fact, once you achieve mastery in a technological or spell discipline, many storekeepers will refuse to do business with you, depending on your specialty.

There's also a dozen screenshots of the game contained within the preview.
I saw this over at Blues
