I've played the demo and I found that the game itself is fun,and i wish to buy it, but i have a problem in game screen,i can only scroll a limited distance in any direction and the view doesn't move with me, so the map does not center. I had to use the arrow keys or scroll around with mouse to see more of the screen, that's frustrating for me. Do you know if is there a mod to fit the view moving with me ?
One day I'll actually play the demo. And shadowumbra buy it while you can still find it, its getting to be pretty rare now.
If you ensure me that in original game this problem is solved I'll buy it right away (I've found it on Ebay)
Do you mean that in original game the view moves with me automatically, or that the problem was solved using a patch or a mod ?
The view doesn't move with you and you have to use arrow keys to move it if you are playing original game or not. If you mapwalk, screen moves with you in original game (or patched?), but it doesn't move in demo. When you save, the view is centered to your charater.
Are you sure that there is not a mod that fits view moving with me (in game walking) ? This game modification seems to me a thing very easy to do.
Naturally i would like to have both chances, defining a switch (F12 for example) that enables center view to character, and sets it in center of the screen while it is walking, and instead disabling this switch you can scroll a limited distance in any direction, and see more of the screen (as currently). It would make Arcanum interface much more confortable.
I've played the demo and i've found that Arcanum is a delightful RPG with plenty to offer to those of you looking for a detailed storyline, rich atmosphere, but can be rather annoying as you're waiting for your characters to catch up so you can see the area you're approaching. So I cannot play it for a failing that i have not noticed in others rpg, all the more that it is a very simple modification to the game and modders don't consider (or don't be able ?) to make it.
Well fact of the matter is, if its so damn simple I'm sure you'll enjoy making it and sending it to DU to put in our delightful downloads section.
It's not been done because it is not simple. To "fix" this we would have to change the game engine itself. Changing the game data is fairly easy but changing the game engine would probably involve access to the source code and a couple of computing degrees. If you use the waypoints on the town maps the screen will automatically follow the player.
Good for you. Make sure to patch it before you play or you'll learn the real meaning of annoying 'failings'.
