Hello everyone, I am new to this forum so sorry if this is under the wrong topic, but back to the suject at hand Arcanum in other games! I used to play a game called Dominions 2, and still do infact now, this game is a large nations sort of turn based stragety game and I thought to myself, hey there are alot of mods out there for it so it can't be that hard, being a huge fan of arcanum I thought I'd make a mod for Arcanum in Dominions 2, it's turned out great so far, however to make things fit into the game I had to slightly modify arcanums storyline (based after the end) so it fit bettering into dominions 2, I have only created one nation, which is Tarent (Yees I'm aware I spelt it wrong, but I only noticed after it was hosted and downloadable) so if there are any fans of Dom 2 here that haven't tryed the mod I urged you to have a go, I'll display the links at the bottem of the page, also I as well as other people here would love to hear if anyone else has gone and modded somthing after one of troika's games, also I remind you that Dominions ISN'T a role playing game so don't look for that aspect in it. http://www.illwinter.com/ http://www.illwinter.com/dom2/mods.html You can get to the link for the mod for Dominions 2 from either of those sites, thanks for reading guys.
If Dominions 3 ships in two weeks, why bother? As soon as you finish it, the whole fan-base will've moved on to the newer game. See if they've a mod-builder available for the third one, and get started on that. Much smarter.
Way ahead of you mate, I've talked to some of progamers of Dom 3 and transfering mods from dom2 to dom 3 is supposed to extremly easy and there are far more options avalible, also I've only finnished 1 of many nations to come based of things from Arcanum, Tarant, Cumbria, Caldon, Tes'ang, Quintara and the Darian kah. (sorry if I've spetl things wrong, I do however try much harder when modding than in posts for accuacy!!)
Well he didn't mention it above. That happened to me once... I'd just finished a neat little mod for GTA3, and they released Vice City, and the whole crowd left. So I never released the mod. All it did was clean up some of the basic graphics, so I decided it wasn't worth the work. Then I bought Vice City, and forgot about it.
Well, yes, it was fun, too bad I don't understand japanse and that I did came that far... not far at all, to be honest.
