im already at the Stop Arronax main quest now... in the middle of my gaming i could hear a 'phone static' at my headphones, then arcanum will either lag, or will lag-then-the-PC will restart... is this a bug or what?
Some how threads seem to move themselves. It's like... magic. I would say, if you're running Vista/W7, then start here. At the very least, give us more information about your machine, your OS, and such.
Sounds like a sound card issue. Try running it with the -nosound command line parameter and see whether it crashes as well.
here are the specs of my desktop computer; Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU: 2.80 GHz - 2.79 GHz RAM: 1.50 GB OS: 32-bit *our PC is slow, we have her for 4 years i think, the first time I played arcanum there's no patch watsoever.. i just started to patch the offical and the UAP when a 'saving' bug struck out in the midst of the game..

So, here's something to consider. As far as I'm aware, if you start a game prior to patching it, you can't play it again after the patch, and need to start over. Also, am I understanding you correctly that you had the game running while you were patching it?
Correct, I patched the game after beginning a new game, it crashed very often -especially when I opened chests- and the save game file showed up as corrupt from time to time.
Not really, during that moment I Closed the game.. uninstall it, then delete the 'sierra' folder that contained the corrupted save file.. Install again, then the Official Patch and finally the UAP.. after that I observed that there is no need for a Play Disk.. and It never have had a 'save bug' after the UAP patch... Until this 'phone static' started to emerge on my headphones... I have at least 45 saved game just for safety measures... although I only use at least 2 of those save files.. This 'phone static' sounded similar the sound of a radio with a cellphone in its side which has an incoming text..
I see what you mean, it makes that sound like *teck teck tereck tereck teck* right? If so try to check if it's a problem with your monitor's refresh rate, otherwise I don't know what to do because I don't have the UAP installed, only the 1.0.74 patch.
Great! Try changing your moniter refresh rate, you know how to do this, right? If don't it's simple: Desktop>Right-Click>Properties>Configurations>Advanced>I can't remember the rest. By the way, call me Vaap, is easier eace:
hey vaap! thanks for the help, i have to choices for the monitor ref rate either 60 hertz or 75 hertz im currently at 60.. which one's better?..
75 is much better, the letter will show up clearer, you'll have less chances to damage your eyes by exposing it to the screen for too long, and the crashing may stop ;-D Glad to help you!
