So, I had this idea for a role-playing thread. I love roleplaying, so with any luck this will meet with your approval.

The characters are a group of apprentices of various crafts and professions. Their masters have brought them to Tarant for some kind of meeting - being apprentices, they have no idea what this meeting is meant to be for or why it's being held. They have been in Tarant for a couple of days now, but something odd has happened - their masters have all vanished!

The characters must find their masters and dicover what strange twist of fate brought them all together.

The setting is about 10 years after the events of Arcanum.

    My Character
    Name: Amelia Jennerson
    Age: 19
    Gender: Female
    Race: Half-Elf
    Desription:
Amelia has long brown hair she keeps tied in a tightly practical braid. A pair of spectacles perch on her slightly hawkish nose, making her moss-green eyes seem slightly bigger than is usual. She is only just 5'2" and rather skinny, and her baggy sand-yellow robes do little to improve her appearance.
Personality-wise, Amelia is very quiet - but also personifies the idea of 'Curiousity Killed The Cat'. She has a burning desire to learn, and her intense interest in anything new constantly gets her into trouble. She is also somewhat shy and always defers to people she sees as having more experience than her. Her voice is very quiet, and she tends to keep to the background of most conversations, assuming she speaks at all.
    Skills and/or abilities:
Amelia may have dedicated herself to her studies, but as yet she hasn't progressed very far. She knows the first spell from Necromantic White (Minor Healing) and the first spell from Summoning (Plague of Insects). She has trained a little bit with a staff and in unarmed combat, and has acheived first rank in Melee and Dodge. She also has a vast amount of knowledge of Arcanum's history and the Panarii in particular.
    Inventory:
Two textbooks (Necromantic White and Summoning), a slender Oak Staff, leather gloves, a spare set of robes (mud brown) and writing materials.
    Background:
Amelia knows very little about her father, save that he was a traveling elf who got her mother pregnant and vanished into the ether. Her mother lost her barmaid's job in Shrouded Hills as soon as it became clear that she was pregnant. In desperation the woman managed to make it to Tarant before giving birth to the tiny Amelia in the Panarii Temple. The combination of the pregnancy and the journey, followed by the rough birth, killed her mother when Amelia was but three days old. The priest did his best to bring her up well, but there's only so much a slightly senile old man can do for a young girl.
Finally the old man realized that Amelia was just too much for him to handle, and so he made the trip to Caladon and left her with the monks and priests. Here her blossoming curiousity found life - there was a lot to learn, and many of the priests were delighted to have a dedicated listener, even if said listener was only a little girl.
As soon as she reached sixteen, the age of majority in Caladon, she requested to be trained as a monk. Despite some initial reluctance, she was taken into the monastary, and proved that she was a hard worker, even if she wasn't as strong or as fast as some of the other students. It was also during these first weeks that she met the legendary - amongst the Panarii, anyway - Virgil Brummond. He had become a wanderer since his experiences in the Void, but every year he returned to Caladon.
She resumed training with a new resolve after this chance meeting, and soon became one of the most talented students, training and studying at all hours of the day and night. At the unprecidented age of seventeen, it was decided to send her out as an apprentice to a wandering priest named Jonas McGrath, and she took to the wandering life like a fish to the ocean. Recently, however, he has spoken of needing to make a trip to Tarant...
