I have looked into it. I don't think I have enough time. I only have an hour a day to mess around on the comp, and I spend a good portion of it here.

See, this is one reason why using image linking is a good thing.

Be grateful he didn't post it directly into the thread like he did last time...

If you think Tubgirl is bad, you haven't seen Goatse.cx. Or, worse still, pain4.jpg. Please, no actually post that picture here. It makes Tubgirl and Goatse seem reasonable.

I'd be very interested to hear how you DID eventually explain it.

That pain4.jpg is interesting. It's strange, looking at it, it's interesting how things like that can freak people out. You wonder about the people who have to deal with that kind of stuff all day.

My husband is one of those people. He's currently a 3rd year medical student who, during undergrad, was very involved with forensic pathology research. Now in Med school, he does rounds in, among other things, the emergency room, the morgue, and the autopsy room. He is planning on doing his residency in forensic pathology. He sees this kind of stuff every day, and has for years. Although I claim sometimes that he has become desensitized, he claims he is just "remaining professional and objective."

This stuff never freaked him out, he saw it very curiously, and now sees it as challenging (for the investigative aspect of it). It used to freak me out immensely, but I've seen alot with him, although not nearly the amount he has, and I must admit it doesn't bother me much anymore, as it used to.

I see his point about becoming objective - it's not so much that he, and all those who work in emergency medicine/pathology, are numb to the suffering, it's more that this kind of thing *happens*, and someone has to take care of it as calmly and rationally as possible. It does nobody any good if you're trying to save a life, or take care of the remains of one that has passed, and you're too freaked or grossed out to do things correctly.

Anyway, that's his thing. I'll stick to my theoretical physics, thanks.
