just getting back into game after a few years. It seems disappointing there has yet to be a more recent game that can match the depth of Arcanum in the D&D genre...at least that i know of.

heartening to see this community still going strong, I can see why after playing the game again at an older age, it really is a marvelous gem.

The current state of RPG's is sad indeed, although I find the Witcher to be rather good if I may say so. Dragon Age is also quite decent, for a Bioware game at any rate.

Agreed, my biggest gripe with all Bioware games is the 'tunnel' feel once you enter a level. Strange how every damned level is made up of a series of half pipes that force you to go in one of two directions. Certainly less noticeable in something like Mass Effect (another good series) however.

Give 'Risen' another go as well, it's very Gothic 2-esque complete with crappy dialogue.

Once you play Arcanum and the Fallouts, all the other RPGs feel like they are pigeon holing you.

thanks, I know what you mean about bioware games. Same thing is happening in the gaming industry that happened with movies, big companies take over and market for mass appeal w/ minimal effort :???:
