You guys are into anime, right? 'Cause I need some help. I saw this awesome anime TV series when I was younger, something like 10 years ago maybe. It was about this guy who was half alien (the hero, of course), and then he had a white glove which only he could put on, and it gave him amazing powers. If anyone else put it on, the glove would twist their hands and basically make meatloaf out of their hand.

    And they had hover-bikes.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? If not, I'm sure you guys are able to put this thread to some other good use.

I'm listening to the Rev. Horton Heat and "Eat Steak" right now.

(By which I mean to say I have round about 0% knowledge of anime. I've been told it's a fundamental flaw in my character.)

For a moment I thought you were talking about Tenchi in Tokyo. Then I said, "Nah, she's talking about Bubblegum Crisis 2040," but then I realised that it was the bad guy who wore the gloves... :/

All I can think of is Tekkaman Blade...
It took place about 300 years in the future, and the hero was this boy who was somehow related to an alien menace that was trying to take over the earth. He didn't have a special glove, though. He was the pilot of a robot.

Vyenna, are you sure instead of a glove you dont mean "the mask" i.e. the movie in which Jim Carey unbelievably made a bigger ass out of himself than he already is.

I'd say something here, but I don't like Jim Carey's early movies.

As for the show, did you see it in Japanese or was it redubbed? And if so into what language?

I dunno, it might be made up.
I can't find anything in regards to a cartoon when I do a search on the title. The best I get is "Signs of esophageal cancer" in Tokyo.

It would seem that "Alf Junior" is the name of the gloved boy, whereas Tokyo 3... I can only think of Evangelion, where there is a Neo Tokyo 3... And a guy with a white glove.

I think Vyenna's point is that if it's what the show is called, it can't possibly be the title that they use in Japan.
Or that it's a really dumb title. It makes me think of Evangelion too...but also of
    [IMG].
And now I'm thinking of what a human/alf hybrid would look like.

At the time I got the autographed photo, there was nothing wrong with being a fan of Alf. What toddler didn't find the hairy alien entertaining?

Am I the only one thinking that perhaps this is the second sequel to something entitled "Alf Junior in Tokyo" ? You know, the first sequel being "Alf Junior in Tokyo 2" ? (Perhaps with some cool addition like "second blood" or "the glove returns," etc.)

    I think you are, Spuddy.

If it was a movie, I'd agree with you, but it was a TV series...
