Well, I beat the original Arcanum with both endings, and yes the evil ending sucked..a lot. Anyway, I downloaded the mod that everyone here talks about and it wasn't exactly fun so I did what it said to go back, but now whenever I use the stat/magic/etc editor it gives my followers 500+ hp. Doesn't really bother me except for the fact that whenever I try to play the editted save game file Arcanum closes back to the desktop. Anyone wanna help me out? :/
uhhh... uninstall everything and never touch the game again... or uninstall everything and then reinstall it
It saw that happen once. If you open a savegame in the editor, and alter the stats of your allies, sometimes for no reason, their health number will raise a lot. I didn't try saving it, because 450 health is WAY too much. I guess if you write down the character's real health, and change it back once you are done editing, it might work.
chris: I had Arcanum with a lot of mods/hacks/etc in it, downloaded your mod and didn't like it, so I uninstalled it because of the whole "you cannot play any other mod" thing. I made a new game with the original Arcanum as a dwarven mage who I had planned on changing into an elf via the savegame editor. (Dwarves look so cool in magic robes..) I played the game without editing until Shrouded Hill, I got Sogg then saved to edit. I edited my stats and magic spells, gave Virgil 50 char points, then went to Sogg and it said he had 498 health. I ignored it and saved the game, I went back to Arcanum and when I tried to load it, it crashed itself back to the desktop. I reinstalled, but the problem persisted and now it says Virgil has 498 health. Luvian: As much as i'd like to, the editor won't let me change health. :/
Uninstall game and install in another directory.Copy your savegames to the new place . This might work.
It won't help, the problem is not the game, it's his bugged savegame. The only solution is to restart and be more prudent next time.
