Now, none, repeat NONE, of this is ment to be offensive or as a diss. But I have noticed, a pickup in the religious artworks and writings on this board. Guys, I know that the people that do these things are very devoted to thier faith. But please have some consideration for those who may not follow thier way. I, for one, am a Pagan. Its just......well I dont want to say annoying, but, there really is no other word.

In the beginning Eru, the One, who in the Elvish tongue is named Iluvatar, made the Ainur of his thought; and they made a great Music before him. In this Music the World was begun; for Iluvatar made visible the song of the Ainur, and they beheld it as a light in the darkness. And many among them became enamoured of its beauty, and of its history which they saw beginnning and unfolding as in a vision. Therefore Iluvatar gave to their vision Being, and set it amid the Void, and the Secret Fire was sent to burn at the heart of the World; and it was called Ea.
Then those of the Ainur who desired it arose and entered into the World at the beginning of Time; and it was their task to achieve it, and by their labours to fulfil the vision which they had seen. Long they laboured in the regions of Ea, which are vast beyond the thought of Elves and Men, until in the time appointed was made Arda, the Kingdom of Earth. Then they put on the raiment of Earth and descended into it, and dwelt therein.

How does it bother you that someone has some artwork or writings that relate to a religion which you're not part of?

I'm an atheist, and you don't see me rant about people writings stuff (after all, there's always a religion that relates to everything...).

Most of us have signatures, pictures, etc. If it just happens that their faith leads them to put pictures reflecting their beliefs on the site, then so be it. It is not like these individuals are attempting to convert anyone. It is like having a personalized license plate or a tatoo. It is a symbol of who that individual is. If you happen to be offended, then don't post. One of the problems we have in America is political correctness. We must be sensitive to everyone. Well I say, let people post what they may as long as it is not a direct attack toward you.

No mean to dis you either.

My G ... oodness, I hope this isn't partly caused by a misconception about Milo's sig. That would be ironic.

Feldon, that's a blast from the past. Did you ever play any of those Drow modules for AD&D?

I think that YeaYea2001 was just curious. The good thing about this board is that we can all take a little ribbing.

    Isn't it Lloth?

You know, the spider queen/goddess of the drow? I read some fantasy series a long time ago about a drow ranger and his cat, and I remember the deity being named something like Lloth.

How could you call the legendary Drow Ranger Drizzt and Guenewar,(spelling) a drow ranger and his cat!?
Jesus, seems you're not wholly into roleplay?
edit: that is why I liked BG alittle more, the AD&D easter eggs.

Oh yeaaahhhh... Thanks for reminding me, Jinxed. I had his name right on the tip of my tongue. Drizzt and Guenyvhar. Drizzt with his two scimitars was very cool. That is except for his name... What is it? Driz? Drizzit? Drist? They need to include pronunciation with some of these books, I swear...

And then there's Artemis Entreri, one of the coolest characters I've seen in a fantasy book.

And then there was the err... dwarf and his hottie human daughter (the one with the bow). And the big guy. The one with the hammer. And the fat halfling with the gem.

One of my favourites was Ramne. He was this crotchety old wizard guy in the first module I ever played (Against the Cult of the Reptile God). He had a wand of wonder, which was the coolest magic item I ever played with (oo-er, I say)

    the fantasy characters I like
    1. Tanis half-elven. this guy does not fill any standard, he sets them
    2. Flint Fireforge the only dwarf I respect
    3. Raistlin Majare a good example of what not to do!
    3. Sturm Brighblade A better example of a knight than Roland
    4. An old mage that was friends with Tasselhof he later turned out to be a god, that die hard attitude of his made me laugh,
    5. Drizzt Durden(spelling) well abviously
    6. Elminister the sage. did he or did he not get killed by dopeldangers?
    7. Gandalf another abviously
    8. the entire Drizzt gang, I forgot their names It's been along time since I last read those books.

That's Fizban! Now where was his hat...

How DARE you refer to Bruenor, Cattie-Brie, Wulfgar, and Regis as "Drizzt's gang"?!

Jeez, seems like you're not really into roleplaying!

Well, it's becoming obvious that I'm the oldest lose... poster here.
According to my 1980 edition of AD&D's Deities & Demigods, (how do you do that trademark again?) it's Lolth (Demon Queen of Spiders).
Yes, Sheriff, I've played all those old modules. And thanks for participating in...well...I don't wanna crosspost. And all these character names you guys are throwing around? I have no clue. God, I feel old.
I'm gonna look at some naked pics of Barbie Benton now.
