Bunny, all I can do is smile right now. Aside from thank everyone for their contributions, I'm forwarding them to J-Lo. Don't ask, I have my reasons and a deal is a deal.

Well, Blinky is Forum Engineer (and Mathematican, consulting with mathboy) from N..., what's then? How this univer. is called? so it will be his privilege to solve such problems.

I use simple mathg once to prove that the Earth Gravity is to too weak to hold the moon in ordit around Earth. I compare the ratio of other planet with moons compare to Sun gravity pull on the same moon. All the other moon expect Earth moon are clealy under the planet gravity influen, the ratio in the
Earth moon case is 0.45 with the sun have more gravity influence than the Earth. In fact the Earth and the moon both rolate around than common center. All other moon rolate around the center of the planet they ordit.

Funny how the moon IS orbiting around the earth, and how it has been doing so for a verry long time?

So J-Lo's going to've my ass hair?
Sof, you make less sense than normal... and on a related note, wtf does your name mean, anyway?
Alright... explain yourself further... I don't see the difference between the ''common center'' of the earth and the moon, and the one that the other moons orbit around...

What (I think) he means, is that most moons orbit around the planet's center, while in the Moon's case both it and the Earth revolve around a common center of gravity that is not the Earth's center but some point inbetween both (supposedly closer to the Earth, since it has the larger mass).

Any two massive bodies orbit around a common point called the barycentre. This point is between the two masses, at a distance determined by their relative mass. If Body A is 50 times larger than Body B, the barycentre is way closer to A, and may in fact be within the radius of A (depends on the distance).

I guess that with the mass difference between, say, Jupiter and its moons the barycentre could lie somewhat close to the planet's centre. Still don't know why he made such a fuss of it...

Because than hight school treacher said I was wrong than he have than Phd in math and phyric. I won my case. He even said I didnot take the mass of the moons in ratio. I show him that the mass of the moons cavled out in the
two ratio being use . Also distance of the earth moon is than factor in it being than interden planet in it own right. Every 4000 miles different between the Earth and the moon cut Earth gravity strength in half. The moon is increassing it distance from the Earth over time in afew thousand year it will be 500,000 miles from Earth.

Isaac Asimov wrote than essay in one of his book of essay than I donot remember the equration use. This Science treach didnot like Isaac Asimow essaies. First this was before electron calcurate came out so I have to use two place log table(two place after decimal point) to do the math. Than scienist from than governm, ent lab morate the the decate. Isaac Asimov have the rare ability to write in just away that than lay person in science can understand him.

Electronic cal did appear than one to do simple adding subtract mulpire and divideing cost 400 dollar one to do hight math many thousand of dollar more.
