    Because no one is painting it?

    Besides, I don't think a little påaint would do it.

    That's how I'll be pronouncing it from now on.

    With an Angstrom? Would you like a rainbow-colored double helix in your chromosomes?

    For some reason, that doesn't look anything like, "I'm painting Grossenschwamm's fence."

    Oh, and the "a" with a ring over it is pronounced like the word "oar."

    So, DF, you'd be saying ,"poaraint".

    Actually, it's pronounced like "or" without the r...

    ...what?! So it's pronounced like 'o' ? So it's Poaint? Talking like that'll just make everyone think you're from Manhattan or some such.

    And that just means I was reading an article intended for anyone who speaks with a remotely English or Australian accent.

    Are you daft? No, seriously.
    Are you not aware that English has an awful lot of ways to pronounce various characters, depending on which characters they're next to?

    Say "To" "Too" and "Or" out loud...

    First it was the cogwheels and now this... :/

    No actually that just means that there's no r in the pronunciation of å. :)

    Or you're forgetting that I'm awesome and post links of my interests when I can be bothered;

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/notesandqueri ... 51,00.html

    and specifically;

    See? If an English guy says it, the R is silent (and may as well not be there) like in arse.
    Also, it may be pronounced slightly differently in Norwegian as opposed to Swedish.

    Aah, like that, in that case you're completely correct. Also the difference between å in Norwegian and Swedish is minimal if there even is one. :)

    No no no, I understood how to pronounce the sound. I was just saying that, dropping that into the word 'paint' makes you sound like your from Manhattan. Or retarded. They're about the same, really.
