I killed both Bates and Appleby. Then I took over their businesses.

Wow, is that possible? Did you earn any money on it?

Neither of them were married. Although Madam Lil's now runs out of my second parlor.

Of course I earned money, I have a monopoly on steam engines. I'm also expanding into shipmaking and pimping (see Madam Lil above).

The game CAN have a dark and evil ending, just join Kerghan and watch.

If you consider that ending dark and evil you are a pussy.

It's the darkest and evilest end you can lay your hands on in Arcanum.

There is that one ending where you convince the dwarven king that all humans are really just fat elves and they're planning to starve his country to death. The cutscene of the dwarven invasion of Tarant is absolutely breathtaking.

It's much more rewarding to discover it yourself. I'll give you a hint: it helps to play as a dwarf. Playing as a human means you'll need to be evil. You can figure out the rest yourself.

Not true. As long as you have Magnus in your team (and charisma of 14) then you can convince Loghaire to launch a pre-emptive strike against Tarant.

Warning: You must finish Tarant quests first as *everyone* gets slaughtered.

Not everyone, one of the guys in the Library of Tarant isn't set to the right faction so he survives. If I ever give enough of a damn I'll try to fix it and release a patch, it's far too trivial for me though.

Are you sure you aren't thinking about the dwarf who sells tech manuals? I always assumed he survived because he is a dwarf.

If I were to make a mod about becoming a crime boss(in the style of Vice City/Scarface), would people be interested in it. I can't do it until I get a new computer, so we'd be talking about a half-year wait at least.

I'd be interested in anyone making any kind of mod. I'd have someone to discuss things with. All the past mod builders have left the forums.

The time consuming part of creating a mod is writing dialogue. I'm sure your current computer can handle notepad.
I always leave the map building until I have finished mapping out the quests and dialogue. It's easy to build in WorldEd but a pain in the ass to delete and rebuild.

I betrayed him cause he was bastard, who believed that all must be forgiven and that you, fool (I mean, character), must do all he ask.

Perhaps I should be more specific. My CPU is cooked, an it's going to take a while to get the cash fo a new one.

I told Appleby I had the journal, but the fool didn't want to hand over enough gold so he found his face at the wrong end of my elephant gun. Made a nice headline in the papers the next morning
