sorry, i was relying on my memory of Dune... Frank Herbert used the word to describe the Fremen holdings, so i never bothered to look up the actual meaning... i'm lazy like that...

I read that book like 17 times and I don't remember the word "creche"! I'm sure I would've remembered, because in my mind I would've interpreted that as F. Herbert describing Fremen Girly Pancakes. The ingredients needed to make an authentic French creche with apricot sauce were just not available on Arrakis.

Me too. I've made similar mistakes dozens of times. It's worse with pronunciation. I've had some real embarrassing ones where, the first time I have said a word out loud in front of people, it turns out I have been reading it wrong for about 20 years.

Still ... 8 keys, that's damn lazy.

 

you know what word bugs me? epitome. i always pronounce it wrong. there's a couple others, too, i never get them right... maybe that's why i'm shy...

I had been pronouncing that wrong forever. Another one I couldn't pronounce correctly was Lenin, always said Leanen. And Stalin, always Stal in. And I was only corrected a couple of weeks ago..

I was gone for no longer than the forum was down, weren't I? I don't know exactly since when TA went down, I started bothering people around me instead of sitting in my room in fornt of computer hence my parents decided to lock me up in the basement till the forum is back up.

 

No you weren't. When I got here the first time... right after the forum went back up, you weren't far behind.
And oh... that's bad... but effective :wink:
