A competition the whole family can enjoy!

Or maybe not. As you may or may not have seen, I've replaced every partial incidence of the f-word with "Praise the LORD!!!" This effect will not be permanent. However, it did give me an idea.

In the ToEE forum Dark Elf, Jinxed and I have been talking about soloing the game as a bard. I'm therefore having a competition - get as far as you can solo in ToEE, any class you like, but no followers, and only the one player character. The person who gets the farthest each week (or whatever interval is deemed appropriate) or impresses the most will get to choose a word, and it's replacement, for 24 hours. Nothing vulgar though. Anyone who actually completes the game solo will be made mod for a day (copious amounts of screenshots will be required as proof I guess).

Oh, did I mention that this has to be done in Iron Man mode? That's kind of important...

 

Fuck, I don't have TOEE yet. I think I will get it for Christmas, though, fuck. I would like to fuck and do that fucking shit with ya'll though. Maybe it will fucking last for a while, and I'll join you guys in fucking competing.

Hmm...one question, how would you know how far we get? Will we have to like video our game time and send it to you or something? Or is there some kind of special way? I've never started playing Ironman, but can you save in that...cause it sounded like you couldn't.

Who really cares about that "me" thing? I for one think it's pretty cool. It is DE's right after all. If it worries you that much, just use a "|".

 

There are a lot of people complaining about this, I got pms. And that is not cool at all.

If this thing is to continue, we should be more careful of the words we choose.

You know what would be funny, but even more annoying? Subsitute I, me, etc, with some random name, like Jimmy. So this:
I hate the new word subsitution thing! It pisses me off, and hurt's my head!

Would become this:
Jimmy hate the new word subsitution thing! It pisses Jimmy off, and hurt's Jimmy's head!

Yes, it would be extremly annoying after a little while.

I know it doesn't matter, but for what it's worth I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. It's great fun, and I'd hate for it to be called off on account of you humorless spoil-sports who're pestering Jinxed.

 

If you were talking to me when you said "humorless spoil-sports" then i must inform you that in one post i expressed that i was all for the "me" thing. I was simply offering a solution of the "humorless spoil-sports".

 

The humorless spoil-sports know who they are, and whether you are among their number I care not. Please don't be so defensive though; I can certainly read the thread for myself.
