It's not an official patch, so it won't be in the patch section. When DarkUnderlord gets the Hacks section up it will be there. If you are desperate for it, send me a nice PM with your email address and I'll send it to you. Otherwise, just be patient and wait a bit longer and he should have that section up before much longer.
That's not the right patch, Canis. He wants the 127 level patch, not the no level cap patch. I've never been able to get the no level cap patch to work without it being buggy as hell or just plain not working, but that may just be my system. I sent him the patch he asked for and T-A is the only place I've ever seen it available.
Explain to me how my link is wrong. Also, I don't recall ever seeing a patch that completely removes the level cap; where is the one you used?
My apologies, Canis. Upon further checking that is the same file that I have. I must have been confusing it with the earlier 1.0.7.0 version by Asteroth which I could never get to work at all. That version totally screwed up my game when I tried to use it because it had so many bugs. I guess after that incident I didn't trust downloads of patches from that site as readily unless I know that the file they have is good. I'm not fond of RPGPlanet's file downloading system anyway and tend to avoid it if possible.
I'm curious - where on the Sierra site do you find anything unofficial like the no level cap mod? I can't find anything there except the official patch, a demo, and wallpaper/screensavers. :-?
It's available right here at TA, in the Hacks sections http://www.terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/dloa ... &cat_id=12. All you have to do is look. I have also included it in my Ship's Cabin and Hold Hack, so if you apply that hack you do not need to apply it separately.
Thanks. Yes I am aware that several hacks are here, and some others are at rpgplanet/Dimensions of Arcanum, but I am puzzled by a number of posts I have read here of people finding these things at the Sierra site - I don't see any hacks at all there.
To the best of my knowledge, Sierra has never posted any hacks on their site, only official patches. I could be wrong about that, but I have never seen anything like that one the Sierra site for any game. They will often post links to sites like TA where you can get the hacks, but they don't supply the hacks themselves. I think it probably has something to do with the old "plausible deniability" bit for liability purposes - if they don't let you download anything but official patches, they can't be held responsible if a hack trashes your game because the author messed up. It all boils down to corporate paranoia at work.
go to www.sierra.com and click on factory and then on hacks and you will see level127 in the list. Every site has a different way of setting up mods so learn the opening page by clicking and test what they do and then you can find the mod you want exactly like I did. It's boastng but I was always good at puzzles and very good at chess so finding a mod on the internet is very easy for me. Take some time and look in each mod category and you'll get better at finding both what you want and what is available.
There is nothing called "factory" on the Sierra site to click on, nor is there anything called "hacks" on the official site. I think you are confused. I am able to find mods and hacks both here and on Dimensions of Arcanum, but not on the Sierra official site, probably because official sites do not carry mods and hacks.
toller, I am extremely good at finding things on the internet and can usually find things that other people can't, but I can't find any "factory" link at the Sierra site. When was the last time you saw this link? If it was ever there, it is possible that with the actual closing of Sierra by VU, that VU has removed it.
Sorry I stated the wrong site. Its right here at terra-arcanum home page. Again I stated the web site incorrectly. Its my age poping up to sting me.
